Supervisory Responsibilities:  

This role will directly and indirectly manage the DSP software engineering team in Customer Project Development (CPD) organization.  This role is managing global DSP software teams in India, USA, Mexico, Germany, and China. The DSP software engineering design team consists of approximately 90 DSP engineers for Amplifier. 

Essential Responsibilities:

Direct and lead a global team of DSP Software team in the development of automotive audio amplifier products

  • Plans and directs personnel resource allocation to the customer product, to platform teams or to AudioworX team if needed
  • Manages resource levels and determine if outside resources are required to complete planned workload.  Manages selection and usage of outside resources to meet project deliverables on-time with zero defects.
  • Maintains engineering staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees.   Supervises engineering personnel through coaching, planning, monitoring, and appraising of job performance.
  • Defines the global DSP team structure and future development in cope with Automotive strategy
  • Establishes key KPI to enable project monitoring for the software development functions
  • Coordinates with MCU software team to ensure deliverables are met on time, within budget and meeting customer requirements and expectations.
  • Maintains engineering standards by establishing and maintaining policies on software design standards.  Identifies and implements methods and practices that improve effectiveness of teamwork, and maturity of software development.
  • Coordinates introduction of new technologies from the advanced development or systems departments into new product designs.
  • Continuously investigates new technology opportunities and plans for evaluation and integration into product designs.
  • Coordinates demonstrator with new audio objects on amplifier or computer level to promote to customers
  • Works on annual department budget, head count, capital tool planning, and other administrative duties.

Basic Qualifications:

REQUIRED Specific Knowledge, Expertise, Coursework

  • DSP Software director shall have knowledge of all software development principles and practices, ability to develop and present technical data, resolve internal and external conflicts, negotiate and resolve DSP related issues, communicate and motivate employees, conduct employee reviews and hire talented employees.
  • Leadership of DSP team to meet strict deadlines.
  • Self-starter and self-motivated.
  • High level of leadership skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and can interface with peers.
  • Technical expert in hardware and software development.
  • Compliant to all processes and policies.

REQUIRED Degree and/or Training, including specifically defined educational equivalent

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering

PREFERRED Certifications/Licenses

  • Master’s degree or PhD, Executive training course, Program management course training, or PMP (Program Manager Professional) certification.

REQUIRED Specific Prior Experiences

  • 5+  years management experience
  • 12+  years experience in developing and/or leading the development of software

Desired Characteristics:

  • REQUIRED  Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related
  • PREFERRED  Master Degree in Business or Advanced Engineering Degree
  • REQUIRED

  • Willingness to travel 15% of the time
