About the Role

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Procurement Specialist will develop supply chain for NPI projects by leading the sourcing actions for the NPI cross-function team.  This role will drive product costs from raw materials to finished components focused on the best cost and on-time delivery for NPIs with category sourcing & Harman factory. The successful candidate will oversee and control the product costs from development to implementation in the factory.  This will include purchasing materials to support product development stages, managing material readiness, alignment with the factory for implementation of mass production. This candidate will lead the procurement actions, report project progress from an operation standpoint, and must be responsive, flexible, and result-driven within an open collaborative peer environment.

What You Will Do

  • Lead & drive procurement sourcing actions to develop product costs throughout the NPI development process.
  • Oversee, develop, and control product costs from the quoting phase to the project implementation stage.
  • Responsible for development and overall product cost (Bill of Materials) for NPI project within the cross-functional team. Coordinate actions with a cross-functional team, PMO, Engineering, Category Sourcing, Quality, and other related stakeholders to present the best product cost throughout the stages of the project.
  • Coordinate procurement of materials required to support ALL product builds of the product development process. Track, communicate status, and coordinate material readiness to support NPI deliverables throughout the project development. Must support materials deliverables for ALL stages of the project development.
  • Closely work with the factory to ensure project deliverables are completed on time to support product builds.
  • Conduct follow-up meetings with procurement and operations to drive results.
  • Provide solutions to cross-functional teams identifying supplier problems and corrective actions to maintain project schedule.
  • Provide project status updates to the NPI team and present them to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need

  • Good at Excel, PPT, etc. office tools.
  • Prior sourcing experience with NPI activities and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience with Category sourcing and IN-HOUSE manufacturing of complex products or subassemblies.
  • Electrical/Mechanical background with sourcing assemblies and components.
  • SAP experience.
  • Be proactive and display initiative to drive sense of urgency; able to lead and drive discussions to achieve deliverables with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to multitask with good organization skills to provide feedback to cross-functional team.

  • Good cost analysis skills.
  • Good written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and ability to apply them where needed.

Pay Transparency
$ 69,000 - $ 101,200

Dependent on the position offered, other forms of compensation are also available, such as bonuses or commission.

Pay is based on a wide range of factors, including, without limitation, skill set, experience, training, location, and business need. While the above range is a reasonable estimate of the wage range for this position, please note the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographical differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
