About the Role
ASIC Flow에서 PI는 RTL에서 Gate-level로 설계/검증을 담당하고 있다. 이 과정에서 고객사의 요구사항에 최적의 PPA(Power Performance Area) 구현하는 것이 목적이다.
RTL을 하드웨어 구현이 가능한 Gate Level Netlist로 변환하는 단계에서 synthesis를 진행하고 이후 Function과 Timing에 문제가 없는지 Sanity check 및 Timing check를 진행하게 된다.
Pre Netlist에서 문제가 없다면 P&R과정을 거쳐서 Post Netlist가 생성이 되는데, Layout 과정에서 function과 Timing에 문제가 없는지 검증을 하게 된다.
Optimization 과정을 거쳐DRC 와 Timing에 문제가 되는 부분은 ECO를 진행하고, Physical Verification이 완료가 되면 GDS / Tape-Out 과정을 진행한다.
What You Will Do
Samsung SOC/ASIC Design Flow 진행 (Hierarchical Implementation in Samsung high process): 고객 또는 시스템 요구 사항에 따라 설계할 Digital 회로의 기능, 성능, 전력소비, 크기 (PPA) 사양에 따라 Design flow를 진행한다.
RTL synthesis: RTL 설계에서 하드웨어 구현이 가능한 Gate Level netlist로 변환하는 단계로 Timing / Area / Power를 check 한다.
SDC cleanup, Timing Check: Timing constraint를 효율성 있게 정의하고 잘못된 부분을 clean up 함으로써 Timing optimization 및 Timing 검증을 한다.
Logic Equivalent Check: RTL과 Pre-netlist가 동일한 function의 기능을 하는지 확인하며, Synthesis과정에서 발생한 오류를 방지할 수 있다. Pre vs Post check를 수행하며 P&R과정에서의 발생 오류도 check 할 수 있다.
Low power Check: Clock Domain 분석 및 전력소모를 분석하여 Timing과의 관계를 확인할 수 있다.
Physical Implementation 진행: FloorPlan / Place / Route 과정을 거쳐 Layout 작업을 진행하며 DRC 및 Timing을 check 한다.
Timing, Function ECO: Post-netlist의 Timing을 ECO 진행하여 setup / hold Timing fix를 할 수 있다.
What You Need to Be Successful
4년제 전자공학과 혹은 유사학과 졸업
PI (frontend) 업무 2년 이상 경력
Tool 사용 경험: Design Compiler, Fusion Compiler, Prime Time, Formality, VCLP, spyglass LDRC, GCA

About HARMAN Connected Services (HCS)
HARMAN Connected Services (HCS) is HARMAN’s software development and semiconductor design division. HCS provides comprehensive solutions across the semiconductor domain, including SoC design and verification, front-/back-end development, foundry collaboration, and design services.
Our projects primarily involve Samsung SoCs in areas such as AP, Automotive, and Modem. On the LSI side, we focus on verification for DDI, TCON, and DTV, including PI/PD analysis.

About the Role
In the ASIC flow, the PI team is responsible for transforming RTL designs into gate-level netlists optimized for PPA (Power, Performance, Area).
The role involves RTL synthesis, timing and functionality checks, and post-layout verification to ensure design integrity.
Through optimization and ECO, the team resolves DRC and timing issues before proceeding to physical verification, GDS generation, and Tape-Out.
What You Will Do
Execute Samsung SoC/ASIC design flow based on system requirements (hierarchical implementation).
Perform RTL synthesis and verify timing, area, and power.
Define and clean up SDC, and conduct timing optimization and checks.
Verify logic equivalence (RTL vs. Pre/Post netlist).
Conduct low-power and clock domain analysis.
Manage physical implementation (Floorplan, Place & Route), and perform DRC and timing verification.
Apply ECOs for timing fixes (setup/hold).
What You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or related field
2+ years of experience in PI (front-end)
Experience with tools: Design Compiler, Fusion Compiler, PrimeTime, Formality, VCLP, Spyglass LDRC, GCA
Bonus Points if You Have
Strong understanding of the full ASIC flow and Auto PNR
Experience in low-power design and physical verification
Familiarity with timing ECO and setup/hold concepts
Proficiency in scripting (Tcl, Perl, Shell, Python)
Synopsys tool experience
Completion of PI-related training (ETRI, IDEC)
