About the Role

Harman Automotive is looking for a motivated and passionate Technology professional to own and lead the Program Management Office (PMO) function for Harman’s Software Services business. Role would demand streamlining program / project execution with standardized set of processes, tools, methodologies to drive consistent experience for Customers. The right candidate will bring a wealth of experience in creating, executing, managing Governance plans, process improvements, drive transformation, and innovation in the PMO function.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Constitute and lead SEPG (SW Expert Process Group) for driving software process improvement activities.
  • Create professional community and place to share experience, lessons learnt, raise awareness.
  • Remove silos from projects execution.
  • Review the current processes, make SW development process common and transparent. Roll out best in class Processes, tool, methodology for program management.
  • Provide support and trainings to the managers.
  • Control process adherence.
  • Improve Project Status Reports (PSRs) for senior management consumption and governance.
  • Keeping track of budget and profitability across projects
  • Implement Harman Agile Framework defined under T10 & QS4 transformation goal
  • Quality Dashboards for program monitoring, tracking, governance using existing tools like Klera, Insights or coming up with new dashboards.
  • Mapping resources to open positions
  • Plan cross-skilling and knowledge management initiatives
  • Plan engagement for bench resources for upskilling and business growth
  • Cross-SBU PMO activities to bring synergies
  • ASpice Level 2 (minimum) adoption across SBU projects
  • Quality Framework (TPF) Adoption

Basic Requirements

  • Around 15+ years’ experience in managing and building PMO teams in a global distributed delivery model within the Software Services space
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to navigate a dynamic Engineering environment by consistently rediscovering for overall success.
  • Experience of designing and building large scale governance plans within the PMO office and continuously improving upon them.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry best practices and models which can be customized for the current Engineering challenges
  • Knowledge of Software Engineering excellence and quality improvement initiatives
  • Experience working in a matrix, global organization by collaborating with key stakeholders
  • Results and detail-oriented: hold him/herself and others accountable for commitments
  • Effective C-Level communication skills
  • Creative problem-solver with the ability to work with a blank slate and inspire others.
  • Intellectual and curious with a passion for storytelling.
  • Experience pivoting and navigating dynamic and changing situations.
  • Proactive, self-sufficient, and professional, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience within the Automotive OEM or Tier 1 space and knowledge of automotive technologies and industry trends is a plus
  • Flexibility to work in office or remotely, travel for business and work in multiple time zones as needed
