About the Role                                

As a SW Project Lead at Harman, you are responsible in a team for successfully planning and executing the Software part of our Intelligent Cockpit Products and ensure project deliveries in time, budget, and quality. You will be the primary customer contact for the customer for all SW related topics and planning.

What You Will Do

  • You will lead the SW Team and will be Team-1 member for the overall Software topics.
  • Responsible to deliver SW for Customer programs in high quality, in time and in cost.
  • Ensure high level of collaboration and transparency between the various entities involved with project execution, including but not limited to the CG, SW/HW domain and Test.
  • Own and monitor the project metrics and ensure they stay healthy. Risks are identified earlier, and mitigation actions are initiated in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure full project staffing on the overall SW Delivery for all sub projects in scope.
  • Ensure that the SW Project Lead team
    - Development & release to HARMAN and customer requirements
    - Develops and executes project SW plan to adhere to process
    - Release design to factory / Effective change management
    - Software technical tradeoffs (Cost, performance, timing)

What You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Knowledge about Software development process and software management
  • Ability to manage technical projects and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to plan software development and release schedule, explain and negotiate with customer.
  • Good communication skills with engineers in domestic and oversea teams in English
  • Possible to communicate fluently with customer with Japanese and English

What is Nice to Have

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, MBA
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive project leading or a related field.
  • Experience working with global development/related teams
  • Experience working in the technology industry or automotive industry
  • Knowledge or experience to handle certification program or homologation
  • Knowledge or experience to manage software development to use agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of ISO/TS16949 (QMS), ISO26262 (FUSA), ISO/SAE21434 (CSEC)

  • Be willing to travel up to 20% domestic and international travel
  • Be willing to work in an office in Tokyo (Nagoya as option), Japan.
  • Successfully complete a background investigation/Aptitude Test as a condition of employment.
