About the Role
The Sr. Purchasing Specialist is responsible of following purchasing process based on the requirements defined by the Master Plan, drive a purchasing process focused on time delivery for the parts of NPI projects with highly vision on inventory control / reduction in order to keep the flow of parts under healthy levels.
She / He works with several individuals, including supervisors, suppliers and individuals from other departments from the company. Must evaluate the short, medium and long requirements to prevent and prepare the best conditions to execute the projects that are coming to the plant. Has the responsibility and authority to solve, in the worst case, inform and escalate in the proper time any risk that could affect the delivery monthly
What You Will Do
- Execute sourcing strategies under the guidance of the Strategic Sourcing Manager.
- Establishing the supply chain for new product development.
- Maintaining current costing information.
- Creating and maintaining an inventory, and liaising with inventory teams and management
- Places and follow through on purchase orders with all vendors
- Collaborate with sourcing to search for new vendors and reductions in pricing.
- Consolidates shipments to minimize freight costs.
- Works in jointly with the Finance Area to resolve invoice issues.
- Works on continuous improvement projects to improve planning/production support
- Supports new products planning.
- Reviews inventory levels to support inventory reduction goals.
- Responsible to define and update all procedures related on the purchasing area
- Must define the right parameters on SAP to require and receive materials based on the signals of the MPS in order to avoid excess of inventory or delays on deliveries.
- Has the authority to stop a process or activity or give coaching if it detects unsafe or acts conditions, that could put at risk the integrity and health of a worker and environment.
- Work with master planner to align the demand according with lead time of raw components confirmations.
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques as related to material handling and control
- Work with the different internal-external departments on strategies to improve the any abnormality or new challenge for the company.
- Responsible of the process and indicators of the own process and His/ Her team.
- Participate and provide support related to environmental, health and safety objectives and programs.
What You Need

- Computer knowledge (Office: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc SAP.)
- Advanced English (Reading and writing that allow fluid participation in negotiation processes)
- Knowledge and understands MRP functionality.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- SAP is necessary.

- 5 years of prior experience in industrial product manufacturing environment.
