Description & Requirements

  • Streaming Architecture & Protocol Management:
    • Design and optimize adaptive bitrate streaming (ABR) implementations.
    • Implement and troubleshoot HLS and DASH streaming protocols.
    • Manage video/audio codec implementations (H.264, H.265/HEVC, VP9, AAC, Opus).
    • Handle DRM-protected content using MediaDrm.
    • Optimize WebSocket and TCP/UDP implementations for streaming.
  • Multimedia Framework Management:
    • Develop or maintain ExoPlayer implementations.
    • Integrate and optimize MediaPlayer and MediaCodec.
    • Manage audio systems using AudioManager and AudioTrack.
    • Knowledge of rendering using SurfaceView/TextureView.
    • Knowledge of OpenMax for hardware-accelerated multimedia processing.
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization:
    • Monitor and optimize frame drops and playback metrics.
    • Analyze network metrics and streaming performance.
    • Track CPU and memory usage patterns.
    • Implement performance optimization strategies.
    • Use Wireshark for network traffic analysis.
  • Issue Triage:
    • Investigate and resolve streaming-related issues.
    • Analyze system logs and performance metrics.
    • Debug codec-specific problems.
    • Resolve DRM-related issues.
    • Handle network streaming failures.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Develop test cases for streaming scenarios.
    • Create automation frameworks for performance testing.
    • Validate codec implementations.
    • Test DRM-protected content.
    • Verify ABR functionality.
