About the Role
As a Performance Management Finance Intern, you will contribute to a wide range of projects with varying stakeholders to directly support Harman Automotive’s Transformation initiatives. This role will leverage your knowledge of project management, financial analysis and problem solving to support Harman Automotive in reaching benchmark performance across all targeted areas.
In this role, we are looking for a natural talent with a flair for structured business problem solving, a sense of urgency, and a strong financial acumen who can effectively partner with a broad range of stakeholders to drive performance, mindset, and behaviors.
What You Will Do
Support Transformation initiatives related to Finance Transformation, Business Case Performance Management and Engineering Efficiency
Lead the development of financial modeling, scheduling, business reviews, and data collection to track progress ensuring transparency and insights for decision making
Act as the point person on setting clear goals, managing timelines, and communicating updates effectively while supporting Transformation leaders
Continuously partner and collaborate with colleagues in Finance, PMO, Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Procurement to understand transformation initiatives, contribute ideas and drive high performance culture
What You Need to Be Successful
Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited 4-year college or university pursuing a related degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or other business management focused discipline
Proactive Learning & Adaptability: Be eager to learn new skills, ask thoughtful questions, and quickly adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong Organizational & Communication Skills: Keep track of project details, communicate effectively with team members (written and verbally), and ensure clarity in reporting progress
Analytical & Problem-Solving Mindset: Approach tasks with curiosity, identify trends in data, and think critically about ways to improve efficiency and execution
Proficiency in Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
Bonus Points if You Have
Experience in Automotive industry and working within a global matrixed organization
Strategic Finance, Business Consulting, Transformation, Continuous Improvement or Project management experience
Lean Six Sigma or other improvement methodology knowledge or certifications
What Makes You Eligible
Fluent in English. Working knowledge of German, Hungarian or other languages is a bonus
Ideally, you live near Novi, Michigan. Because this is a hybrid role, working virtually and commuting to our Novi office will be required each week
Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
Pay Transparency
Freshman: $19.00
Sophomore: $21.00
Junior: $23.00
Senior: $24.00
Master: $28.00
Dependent on the internship offered, pay is based on factors, including without limitation, the applicant's level of education and business need.
