About the Role
The System Engineer Intern will be working with experienced Senior Engineers working as the technical interface between Harman’s customers and the engineering teams. A System Engineer is a “Jack of all trades” individual, so candidates with an interest in learning a broad range of topics across multiple engineering disciplines would find this role a great fit. Primarily the role of the intern is to assist issue investigations, system performance evaluation, testing bug fixes, developing test automation and automated reporting, update products, perform experiments, and documentation.
What You Will Do
Write automated scripts for testing and reporting.
Analyze analytic data for performance metrics and anomalies.
Learn about the overall software and hardware interactions within systems developed by Harman as well as how they interact with other components in the vehicle.
Test developer and release software.
Assist senior engineers in issue investigation and triage, collecting and analyzing logs to help narrow down root cause.
Learn to utilize AI toolchain to improve system level requirements and logging
What You Need
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter prior to participation in the internship program and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to senior leaders and executives
Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to work in an office in Novi, Michigan.
Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
Must provide full work availability from May 19, 2025 through August 8, 2025 and be able to work 40 hours per week

Freshman: $21.00
Sophomore: $23.00
Junior: $25.00
Senior: $27.00
Master: $32.00
Doct: $38.00
Dependent on the internship offered, pay is based on factors, including without limitation, the applicant's level of education and business need.
