Job description of Unix technical Architect – Minimum 8 yrs of experience
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise-grade UNIX systems (RHEL, Solaris) with a focus on high availability, performance, and security.
• Lead containerization efforts using Docker and OpenShift, including architecture planning, deployment, and management.
• Integrate UNIX systems with Active Directory for authentication, access control, and compliance.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for advanced system and infrastructure issues.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for provisioning, monitoring, and patching using Ansible, Shell, and Python.
• Perform regular OS upgrades, security patching, and vulnerability remediation in alignment with corporate standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployment and troubleshooting.
• Document infrastructure standards, architecture designs, and operational procedures.
• Mentor junior engineers and guide the team on best practices in UNIX systems administration, container orchestration, and system security.
• Hardware knowledge in Dell , Oracle , Cisco.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with UNIX system administration in enterprise environments.
• Expert-level knowledge of Linux (RHEL) and UNIX variants such as Solaris.
• Proven experience with Docker and OpenShift platforms.
• Strong understanding of Active Directory integration with UNIX systems using services like SSSD, Kerberos, and LDAP.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Solid understanding of networking, DNS, NFS, system hardening, and firewall configurations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications: RHCE, Linux+, OpenShift Administrator, or equivalent.
• Experience with hybrid and cloud environments (AWS, OCI).
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, GitOps workflows, and CI/CD integration in UNIX environments.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes, change management, and incident resolution workflows.
