About the role 

In this role, your main responsibility will be to file VAT returns for German entities in a timely manner. Also, you will support the VAT Manager in matters of VAT and other compliance responsibilities of the Hungarian entities. It will give you a chance to work in a supportive and close tax group as well as to improve your knowledge of taxation from an international perspective. What you will do

  • Prepare the German VAT filings for German (monthly) and respective EC sales lists

  • Prepare the OSS filing for German entity (quarterly), and prepare the UK and Swiss VAT returns (quarterly)

  • In case of VAT liability, ensure that liabilities are paid on time

  • Reconciliation of GL VAT accounts in SAP and VAT current accounts and respective communication with SSC GL team in Hungary

  • Work with the VAT manager on the review of business transactions for VAT treatment and address necessary changes

  • Work with our German tax team regarding communication with German tax authorities on VAT topics and support VAT audits of the German entities

  • Monitoring postings in SAP from VAT perspective especially for German entities

  • Prepare the quarterly VAT returns of HBAS HU for Czech Republic and Germany

  • Support the VAT Manager the GL VAT accounts reconciliation of the Hungarian entities

  • Support the VAT Manager in the calculation of rehabilitation tax for Hungarian entities

  • Monitoring the online reporting module (eDoc) in SAP for Hungarian and VAT registered entities

  • Support the VAT Manager in the payment and clearing process of social securities of HBAS HU

What You Need

  • About three to five years of experience in the VAT field

  • Experience in preparing and filing VAT returns

  • SAP knowledge (FI/CO, PS)

  • Knowledge of English

  • Chartered accountant qualification

  • College/university degree
