About the Role:

Martin Professional is looking for an Application Engineer that will bring deep expertise in intelligent lighting systems, particularly within the entertainment industry, with additional knowledge of architectural lighting. You will be responsible for delivering technical presentations and training in various formats—including classroom sessions, live stage demonstrations, and online webinars.

A key aspect of this role involves supporting our sales professionals and distributor network through technical education, product demonstrations, and demo/mock-up installations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and capable of working independently while also collaborating closely with the wider D&A team. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to take ownership of a dynamic role within a supportive and forward-thinking organization.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead Engagement in New Product Introductions (NPI):
    Actively contributes to the successful launch of new products by providing technical insights, supporting go-to-market strategies, and ensuring readiness across relevant stakeholders.
  • Technical Training and Distributor Enablement:
    Deliver in-depth technical training to distributors, ensuring they achieve and maintain a high standard of technical proficiency and product knowledge.
  • Demonstration and Exhibition Management:
    Plan, prepare, and execute product demonstrations and exhibitions at customer and distributor locations, showcasing product capabilities and enhancing brand visibility.
  • Project Leadership Across EMEA:
    Provide comprehensive support for both temporary and permanent installations across the EMEA region. Take a proactive leadership role in project planning, engineering, partner instruction, and progress monitoring to ensure timely and successful delivery.
  • Strategic Relationship Development:
    Cultivate and manage relationships with designers, consultants, specifiers, and industry influencers across EMEA. Conduct product demonstrations and maintain regular engagement to support brand positioning and market penetration.
  • Global Sales Collaboration:
    Partner with global sales teams to strengthen relationships with key designers and distributors, aligning efforts to support Martin Professional’s global business objectives.
  • Marketing and Campaign Support:
    Collaborate with regional marketing team to shape and execute targeted campaigns aimed at designers, production professionals, and specifiers. Assist in the creation of promotional content, including video and digital media.
  • Distributor Sales Enablement:
    Work closely with key distributors throughout EMEA to drive local sales initiatives, leveraging relationships with designers and supporting Martin Professional’s BDM team.
  • Brand Representation at Industry Events:
    Represent Martin Professional at major international trade shows, exhibitions, and distributor-hosted open house events, reinforcing brand presence and engaging with key market players.
  • Strategic Planning Support:
    Assist the lighting management team in developing and executing monthly, quarterly, and annual growth plans for the Martin brand.
  • Reporting Structure:
    Report directly to the Senior Design & Application Manager, providing regular updates on project progress, market feedback, and strategic initiatives.
  • Technical Sales Support:
    Support sales teams and distributors by providing expert-level technical guidance and product advocacy during customer engagements.
  • Industry Relationship Building:
    Establish and nurture relationships with distributors and lighting designers across entertainment, cruise ship, and architectural sectors.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Webinars:
    Host webinars and deliver presentations to educate and inspire Martin Professional users, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
  • Product Development Collaboration:
    Contribute to product development efforts by providing customer feedback and original ideas to the Global Product Line Management (GPLM) team.
  • Cruise Market Support:
    Collaborate with the Director of Global Cruise Business to support product specification and deployment within the global cruise market.

What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Advanced Technical Expertise
    In-depth knowledge of intelligent lighting systems for both entertainment and architectural applications, including industry-standard control protocols and the ability to operate and program these systems at a professional level.
  • Excellent skills in presentations
  • No fear of talking in front of a group, on stage or on webinars, and creating professional training materials on PowerPoint and other presentation platforms.
  • Software Proficiency
    Skilled in the use of lighting control and engineering software platforms for system design
  • Industry Relationships
    Strong, well-established professional relationships with leading lighting designers, production teams, and specifiers across the industry.

    Recognized for a solid reputation within the professional lighting community, supported by a network of trusted industry contacts.

  • Travel Flexibility
    Willing and able to travel extensively (50%+), including international assignments across EMEA.
