About the Role

New opportunity within our large Engineering organization for a Security Test Principal Engineer as part of a new opening position in Connectivity Test Center. This role will be part of a new team based in Bucharest which will work closely with the wider team. Our goal is to build out our Connectivity Test Coordinating team operating from our strategic site in Bucharest providing experienced and dynamic team members to support multiple roles across our portfolio of global projects. This is an extremely exciting time to get involved, to help develop and shape innovative technology and drive change throughout the organization.

What You Will Do

• Assisting in Security Testing of Systems and Applications
• Learn and assist in performing basic security tests on systems, applications, and networks under supervision.
• Use predefined test cases and tools to identify potential vulnerabilities.
• Document test results and share findings with the team for further analysis.
• Learning and Using Security Testing Tools
• Gain hands-on experience with cybersecurity tools such as vulnerability scanners, penetration testing frameworks, and network monitoring tools (e.g., Nessus, Burp Suite, Wireshark).
• Assist in setting up and configuring these tools for specific testing scenarios.
• Practice analyzing tool outputs to identify potential security issues.
• Testing Security Controls
• Assist in testing the effectiveness of security controls, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption mechanisms.
• Learn to simulate basic attack scenarios to evaluate system defenses.
• Document test results and provide input for improving security measures.
• Monitoring and Analyzing Security Logs
• Learn to monitor and analyze security logs from various systems and tools.
• Assist in identifying unusual or suspicious activity and escalate findings to senior team members.
• Document log analysis procedures and findings for future reference.

What You Need to Be Successful

• A basic understanding of software development and testing processes.
• Understanding of cybersecurity domains (internet protocols and services, web technologies).
• Ability to create, execute, and document test cases based on requirements or user stories.
• Familiarity with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) for reporting and managing bugs.
• Basic understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
• Basic understanding of APIs and how to test them using tools like Postman (optional but beneficial).
• Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and basic troubleshooting skills.

Bonus Points if You Have

• ASPICE knowledge
• 10+ year of experience in testing embedded systems
• CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP certifications
• Familiarity and ability to operate GSM simulators tools such as Keysight, Anritsu, and Wi-Fi, BT/BLE analyzers and testing suites.
• Experience with static and dynamic code analysis
• Working knowledge of Android and Linux
• Automotive industry experience
• Experience in Agile/SCRUM
• HW experience with configuration different setups
• Knowledge in ALM is beneficial.
• Expertise in working with distributed development teams.
