About the Role
As an Executive Director, Sales, you will lead the Partnerships and Strategy functions within our Automotive Engineering Services business to redefine the way we engage with our customers and refine our Go-to-market strategy by leveraging our Software Services offerings, aligning them with our customer’s vision and needs.
You will drive the following:
Build partnerships with technology providers in the Automotive industry.
Manage relationships with analysts and sourcing providers.
Harness the wider non-legacy Automotive ecosystem.
Establish strong Sell-with and Sell-To motion with Hyperscalers and Private Equity with an Automotive focus.
Strategically align to the Sales Governance Model to leverage the existing suite of Products and Services portfolio within Harman.
Conceptualize and improve our Go-to-market strategy within the Automotive sector.
Define Engineering services strategy in the evolving Automotive industry landscape
You will lead the Partnerships and Strategy functions within Automotive Services Sales helping to build relationships and charter our strategy in the Automotive industry.
You will also be responsible for transforming the Sales Engine for our Automotive Software Services business to include and leverage the complete set of Software assets which Harman can offer, while looking for new avenues of creatively packaging our capabilities to meet our customer’s requirements. This is a critical global leadership role with a major impact on the overall performance of the business unit, reporting directly to the SBU head.
What You Will Do
Creating and executing novel win strategies and navigating the customer challenges leveraging existing Harman software assets, global network, Technology Labs, Business units and cross-functional expertise to sell compelling service offerings for our customer pursuits.
Design and manage Account Management strategy and plans, both short term and long term, for existing relationships.
Act as a mentor for the Sales team and rallying the collective capabilities of the team leading them to a common target.
Sharp focus on strategizing and masterminding deal closure strategies adapting to customer specific, industry specific, and geopolitical challenges.
As a Strategic Advisor, build and develop trusted relationships with clients and work internally across Harman teams to bring our clients the most comprehensive, end-to-end services to effectively address their projects.
Collaborate with Presales and Engineering teams to structure propositions for our customers which include Software Transformation models like GenAi, Cloud-based Simulated environments, Distributed Agile, Software Foundation & Excellence Model, Model Based Software Development, and Software & System Requirements Engineering.
Be a Trusted Advisor for Customer and Harman Teams and define approaches to provide structured solutions to complex software and technology problems of clients, by harnessing right methodologies and engineering teams.
Build, Develop and Own relationships with business, engineering and technology stakeholders, executives of our clients.
Create expert content for point-of-view and use value propositions, and differentiators for C-Level discussions.
What You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration management, or related fields
18+ years of experience in new business development and sales in in the Software Services industry.
10+ years of experience in selling Automotive Software and Services outsourcing, advisory and consulting with Global Automotive OEMs and other automotive ecosystem players.
Proven experience in establishing and successfully building and running innovative partnership models and deal structures with customers, for example joint ventures.
Understanding of current technology and consumer trends, processes and how decisions are being made along the value chain in the Automotive industry.
Well versed with Automotive Industry market trends including but not limiting to Software Defined Vehicle, new E/E Architecture with centralized / zonal compute, In-Cabin Experience, Supply Chain disruption, Shared Mobility. Electrification and ADAS / AD. And its implication to Engineering Services portfolio/offerings.
Established understanding and relationships with ecosystem players like Sourcing Advisors, Private Equity, and Hyperscalers.
Bonus Points if You Have
Master’s degree in engineering, business administration management, or related fields, preferably MBA
Knowledge of modern electronic in vehicle architectures.
Further language skills such as German, Chinese, or Korean
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to travel up to 40%, domestic and international travel.
Be willing to work in Remote or in office in Germany or other specified locations
