About the Role

You will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of our AI and machine learning in HARMAN along with other key leaders. This hands-on role will involve formulating technical solution designs and deployment of enterprise-grade solutions for internal AI/ML projects and shaping organization’s long-term technology roadmap. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in AI/ML & data engineering and will be exceptionally proficient in working with cloud technologies. The incumbent in this role will be a hands-on technical authority in the field and will be responsible to deliver AIML projects by leveraging cloud-native architectures for AI/ ML , data and solution management. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for shaping the future of AI/ML within our organization, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful implementation of AI/ML solutions that deliver tangible business outcomes.

What You Will Do

• Drive Innovation, Differentiation & Growth
  • Design and build advanced AI systems that are scalable, reliable, and capable of delivering impactful results.
  • Lead the development of cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning solutions, including Generative AI applications.
  • Ownership on growth of the COE and influencing clients/ stakeholders’ revenues or cost through AI practice
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities for applying AI/ML across various business units, departments, and functions.
  • Lead the selection, deployment, and management of AI/ML tools, platforms, and infrastructure.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML solutions
  • Define, differentiate & strategize new AI/ML services/offerings and create reference architecture assets
  • Network with domain experts
  • Monitor and measure the performance of AI/ML initiatives, demonstrating ROI through cost savings, efficiency gains, and improved business outcomes.
  • Oversee the development, training, and deployment of AI/ML models and solutions.
  • Develop and propose AI/ML solutions tailored to stakeholder specific requirements.
  • Influence stakeholder revenues through innovative solutions and thought leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
• Build Partner Ecosystem:
  • Drive partnerships with vendors on collaboration, capability building, go to market strategies, etc. Run proof of concepts with AI partners offering innovative solutions.
  • Evaluate new AI products available in market or AI capabilities of existing technology partners
• Build re-usable Methodologies, Pipelines & Models
  • Create data pipelines for more efficient and repeatable data science projects
  • Experience of working across multiple deployment environments including cloud, on-premises and hybrid, multiple operating systems and through containerization techniques such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Elastic Container Service, and others
  • Hands on Coding in languages including R, Python, Scala, MATLAB, etc and building scalable models
  • Experience with popular databases including SQL, MongoDB and Cassandra
  • Experience data discovery/analysis platforms such as KNIME, RapidMiner, Alteryx, Dataiku, H2O, Microsoft Azure ML, Amazon SageMaker etc.
  • Expertise in solving problems related to computer vision, text analytics, predictive analytics, optimization, social network analysis etc.
  • Experience in regression, random forest, boosting, trees, hierarchical clustering, transformers, convolutional neural network (CNN), recurrent neural network (RNN), graph analysis, etc.

• Build AI Ecosystem:
  • Hands on development and deployment of AI & ML technical architecture.
  • Instilling best practices in software engineering and systems integration
  • Develop and implement ethical AI practices and governance standards.
  • Develop AI capability building programs along with HARMAN University

What You Need

• 12 + years of experience in the information technology industry with strong focus on AI/ML having led and support setting up AI/ML practice in IT services or niche AI/ML organizations
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing end-to-end ML solutions, driving projects as a technical SME, and independently developing AI systems from scratch.
• 5 + years of experience of setting up scalable cloud/On prem architectures for deploying and maintaining machine learning models in a production
• A master’s or PhD degree in computer science, data science, information systems, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, economics, engineering, or physics.
• Hands-on experience in python coding and frameworks like PyTorch, building ML/DL models independently, as well as exposure to building Generative AI applications. In depth specialization in text analytics, image recognition, graph analysis, deep learning, computer vision is required,
• The candidate should be adept in setting up infra & augmenting AI workloads for performance and cost-efficiency; Exposure to ML-Ops methods to the construction of ML pipelines and as well as understanding big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) will be useful.
• Candidate should have demonstrated the ability to drive data science projects while acting as a Principal architect/Engineer for the project.
• The candidate should have strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, having hands on experience in working with one of the cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for deploying AI/ML solutions
• Experience in building solutions with AI/ML elements in any one or more domains – Automotive, Retail
