About the Role
We are the Harman Research team in charge of the company’s Technology Strategy. We are looking for a passionate professional with strategy development and synthesis expertise who will help us in driving our current and future Technology Strategy for HARMAN. Join our team as a Technology Strategist and become a key player in defining and shaping our companywide Technology Strategy. This means you help in designing and evolving the Technology Strategy aligned with each Division’s business strategy and technology roadmaps, develop and train the stakeholder teams in strategy methods and processes around technology and guide the communication of Technology Strategy across the organization. You champion the strategy process in its regular iteration cycles and help advise on the strategic fit within the company’s goals in context to Samsung.
As part of the team, you will participate in the design and implementation of technology strategies, plans and activities in support of our Technology Strategy objectives (80%) and work directly with the team including the CTO to provide administrative and logistical support (20%).
What You Will Do
Techology Strategy (80%)
Support the formalization, implementation and iteration cycles of the new Technology Strategy process that will include, but will not be limited to:
Integration of cross-divisional technology strategy development and implementation process, including Samsung technology focused organizations like Samsung Research.
Synthesis of Divisional technology roadmaps into a holistic HARMAN picture to identify efficiencies, asset sharing, and synergies
Prioritization of technology focus areas across business categories, Harman Research & Samsung Research
Innovation process and external scouting integration into overall strategy
Help to oversee the implementation of the strategies with high degree of autonomy
Support the creation of digital first, best-in-class strategy toolbox and roll-out across the organization as part of the strategy process with a focus on predicting the future in areas with high levels of uncertainty
Help to coordinate the upskilling of all stakeholders in the organization through a train-the-trainer approach and by utilizing the HARMAN university
Contribute to the team’s strategy execution as a trainer, workshop facilitator and coach for the global teams both in person and in virtual sessions
With guidance, build and maintain a strong network of global key stakeholders across the organization
Communicate findings and progress of the strategy in an easy understandable way and continuously tell and reinforce the story
Contribute to the reinforcement and evolution of the strategy process with a lean and digital first approach
Administrative (20%)
Support leadership by collecting data, and analyzing information in advance
Draft and prepare correspondence for announcements, board meetings, and organizations
Develop business documents, presentations, agendas, reports, and special projects
Arrange domestic and international business travel
What You Need to Be Successful
- Excellent university degree or equivalent work experience in business administration with focus on corporate strategy or technology/innovation management
- Relevant strategy consulting experience, including experience working with executives and board members
- Deep knowledge of modern strategy workshop methods, tools and track record in strategy workshop execution
- Experience in education, teaching, and new learning methods
- Organized and entrepreneurial mindset: ability to work independently with little structure, quickly adjust to new circumstances and work on multiple projects at the same time
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders at the same time
- Very good international communication skills and ability to motivate and to resolve conflicts
- Highly result driven, organized and deadline-oriented with a clear can-do mentality
- Strong quantitative capabilities, very structured and critical thinking with good analytical skills
- Creative and innovative problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and willing to drive things forward
Bonus Points if You Have
- 2+ years of experience in Strategy Consulting, in-house consulting, or comparable experience
- Experience in working in a matrix organization with stakeholders across the globe
- International work experience
- Business acumen - strong business sense, decipher priorities and make sound judgment calls when needed
