Description & Requirements

The Senior Test Engineer/Lead is responsible for the complete validation of telematics products, including bench and vehicle testing, log analysis, and software validation. The role involves end-to-end software and product testing, ensuring vehicle compatibility for automotive telematics products. Candidates with connectivity domain experience and Japanese language skills are preferred.

What You Will Do

  • Plan, monitor, and execute test cases, including test case creation, reviews, and reporting.
  • Address and resolve technical queries related to telematics features within the team.
  • Coordinate testing activities across hardware, mechanical, software, device, compatibility, cloud/backend, and mobile apps.
  • Conduct vehicle testing at customer locations and provide support for customer-related activities.
  • Perform Sanity Tests, System Tests, End-to-End feature tests, OTA tests, compatibility tests, and device functionality tests across various customers and projects.
  • Analyze logs and test results to identify issues and improve system performance.
  • Conduct full system tests before factory or maintenance releases, covering KPI, performance, security, power management, GPS, sensors, and other functionalities.
  • Track, execute, and report vehicle compatibility testing.
  • Provide test support and live debugging for new feature development or change requests.
  • Utilize tools such as CANoe, PCAN for CAN simulation and diagnostics.
  • Work with automotive-based telematics product testing and qualification.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to clarify requirements across device, cloud, apps, and web portals.
  • Understand and analyze client functional and non-functional requirements and high-level design documents.

What You Need

  • 7-9 years of experience as a Test Engineer in the Automotive industry.
  • Experience in Software Testing (White box/Grey box).
  • Strong skills in data analysis, logs, and tracing.
  • Hands-on experience in telematics unit validation, bench, and vehicle testing.
  • Experience with HW setup, Telematic/Infotainment systems, CAN, Diagnostics, and Telephony.
  • Japanese language proficiency is preferable.

What is Nice to Have

  • ISTQB Certification.
  • Knowledge of Automotive Testing Standards (A-SPICE).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant IT-related field.
  • Experience with Test Automation and Scripting (Python).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
