ADAS Domain Lead
About the Role
We are looking for a Leader for our ADAS Domain, with bespoke experience in ADAS business development in an engineering services organization. As a candidate, you are a passionate Automotive Engineering professional, who is enthusiastic about automotive systems and wants to define future ADAS/AD systems and their in-cabin user experience.
As ADAS Domain Lead in the AES Domain organization, you will lead a team of direct and indirect reports that work with engineering and sales to define and support our ADAS Services portfolio across Engineering, Sales and business development.

The ADAS Mission of HARMAN AES is to serve our customers to create and integrate ADAS solutions on our customers’ vehicle platforms. In the SDV era, this includes the customization and integration of 3rd party ADAS SW solutions, same as the migration and refactoring of legacy ADAS solutions to fit novel SDV system architectures.
The ADAS Domain Lead manages our ADAS offerings and roadmap, grows the team with right competencies, and develops demos, PoCs and accelerators to reduce project costs and accelerate customer projects. In Presales, the ADAS Domain Lead is responsible for the solutioning of Customer responses in the RFQ process and proactive customer pitches.

A very important aspect of the Domain lead is to support sales in business development. The ADAS domain lead is maintaining customer relationships and works with Sales on the ADAS Go-to-Market strategy. As an ideal candidate you have worked with several customers in a engineering services context.

What You Will Do:

•   Define our ADAS services portfolio and corresponding roadmap based on demand and industry trends,

•  Work with Sales on Go-to-Market activities and develop customer battleplans,

•  Work with Sales and Marketing in business development through customer visits, Industry events participation, presentations, marketing collaterals and customer/competitor intelligence, 

•  Define and maintain the teams’ ADAS competency map, and build relevant capacity and skills by hiring and competence development campaigns,
•    Support the response of RFI/RFQs and other business pursuits by the ADAS Domain team,
•    Run and supervise internal projects to create PoCs, accelerators and demos,
•    Support the creation of investment plans,
•    Upskill and incubate our Engineering Organization to effectively deliver on customer development and consultancy projects related to ADAS,
•    Maintain a knowledge base in MS teams about your organization, service offerings and the covered domains,
•    Contributions/blogs in social media and participation in Industry conferences and consortiums

•    Conduct Sales training and provide material to be turned into collaterals by presales and marketing

•    Help in engineering delivery of customer programs as required by building seed teams, defining domain playbook consisting of best practices/toolchain/methodologies

What You Need to Be Successful

•    Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable experience,
•    Understanding of the ADAS Engineering services opportunities and market trends

•    Experience in working with Sales on ADAS  business pursuits and business development as part of an engineering services organization,

•    10+ Years of Experience in working with Automotive software products and services which includes working with Automotive OEMs.

•    5 years hands-on experience in system design incl. functional safety of real-time and safety critical ADAS/AD systems (Highway Assist, Traffic Jam Pilot/Highway Pilot, Automated Parking Assist, etc.) in OEM programs,

•    Good understanding of SDV and ADAS System Architectures and Technologies,

•    Solid understanding of Functional Safety and Cybersecurity,

•    Experience working in a matrix, global organization by collaborating with key stakeholders

•    Technical and business leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire people.

•    Creative problem-solver with the ability to work with a blank slate and inspire others

•    Intellectual and curious with a passion for storytelling.

•    Experience pivoting and navigating dynamic and changing situations.

•    Proactive, self-sufficient, and professional, with strong organizational and time management skills.

•    Flexibility to work in office or remotely, travel for business and work in multiple time zones as needed.

•    Bring along existing relationships with present and future customers of HARMAN,
•    German language skills.

What Makes You Eligible

•    Be willing to travel up to 20%, domestic and international.
•    Regular presence in the Garching or Bochum Harman office on demand (other Harman locations optional) 
•    Having a valid work permit available.
