About the Role
As an ASPICE Process Owner / ASPICE Domain Lead, you will define, govern, and continuously improve multiple Automotive SPICE process areas across the software engineering lifecycle and relevant cross-domain interfaces. The role supervises the full SWE process landscape, including but not limited to SWE.1 through SWE.6, and coordinates interfaces with system engineering, quality assurance, verification, functional safety, cybersecurity, configuration management, problem resolution, and project management processes.
You will act as the organizational technical authority for ASPICE implementation, assessment readiness, and process harmonization. You will mentor and coordinate other Process Owners, drive alignment across projects and domains, and support achievement of ASPICE capability targets by translating business and customer challenges into scalable engineering process improvements.
What You Will Do
ASPICE Governance & Multi-Area Ownership
Own, supervise, and harmonize multiple ASPICE process areas across the complete software engineering V-model (SWE.1, SWE.2, SWE.3, SWE.4, SWE.5, and SWE.6. )
Coordinate process interfaces with SYS.2 through SYS.5, SUP.1, SUP.8, SUP.9, SUP.10, MAN.3, and additional process areas where required by program scope, customer expectations, or organizational improvement priorities
Define, maintain, and continuously improve an integrated ASPICE process framework covering activities, work products, roles, responsibilities, tailoring guidance, methods, tooling, metrics, and assessment evidence expectations
Ensure consistency between ASPICE requirements, HARMAN Business Management System processes, customer-specific requirements, Agile ways of working, ISO 26262, cybersecurity engineering expectations, and internal engineering standards
Provide authoritative interpretation of ASPICE process requirements and resolve complex topics where process ownership, evidence expectations, or cross-domain responsibilities are unclear
Process Owner Leadership, Mentoring & Coordination
Mentor and coordinate Process Owners across software engineering and related ASPICE domains to ensure consistent process interpretation, deployment, and assessment preparation
Establish and lead a Process Owner community of practice focused on lessons learned, reusable assets, process tailoring, common weaknesses, and best-practice deployment
Review process definitions, tailoring decisions, assessment evidence, and improvement proposals created by other Process Owners and provide expert guidance on complex or high-impact topics
Support onboarding and competency development for Process Owners, Project Quality Leads, Engineering Managers, and technical experts involved in ASPICE execution
Act as escalation point for process implementation issues that exceed local project ownership or require cross-functional negotiation
Assessment Readiness, Compliance & Quality Leadership
Lead ASPICE assessment-readiness activities across multiple projects, domains, and process areas, including gap analysis, mock assessments, work product reviews, and evidence readiness checks
Define improvement strategies and roadmaps to achieve ASPICE capability targets and reduce recurring assessment findings
Analyze audit, assessment, KPI, and maturity gate results to identify systemic weaknesses and recommend organizational corrective and preventive actions
Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Development Quality, Engineering Leadership, and project teams to close gaps and sustain process adherence
Drive consistency of traceability, review practices, verification evidence, architecture evidence, and process compliance expectations across teams and tools
Technical Excellence & Continuous Improvement
Lead complex improvement initiatives to increase engineering efficiency, process scalability, traceability quality, work product quality, and audit readiness
Identify opportunities for automation in process execution, evidence collection, traceability validation, metrics reporting, and compliance checks
Promote advanced engineering practices such as model-based engineering, disciplined requirements engineering, architecture governance, verification strategy alignment, and systematic defect prevention
Recommend improvements to templates, guidelines, methods, toolchains, dashboards, and workflows based on project feedback, assessment outcomes, and business needs
Translate business challenges and customer quality expectations into practical process improvements that improve delivery predictability, product quality, and engineering maturity
Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Influence
Lead cross-disciplinary process initiatives involving Software, Systems, Hardware, Testing, Quality, Functional Safety, Cybersecurity, Program Management, and customer-facing stakeholders
Communicate difficult ASPICE and engineering-process concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Negotiate process adoption, ownership boundaries, evidence expectations, and improvement priorities to drive business objectives.
Represent the process organization in customer assessments, internal reviews, leadership forums, and quality escalations as required
Work independently with guidance only in the most complex, high-risk, or strategically sensitive situations
What You Need
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical field
Extensive experience as an ASPICE Process Owner, process expert, assessor, quality lead, or engineering process leader within automotive software development
Highly specialized, in-depth knowledge of Automotive SPICE, with proven ability to supervise and harmonize multiple process areas across the software engineering lifecycle
