About the Role
In this role, you will ensure the functionality and compliance of test benches and test vehicles + additional equipment with relevant legal and company standards, supporting both hardware and software testing of automotive infotainment systems. You’ll be involved in infotainment system checks, flashing and diagnosing system errors. This is a hands-on engineering role that blends diagnostics, electronics, software testing and mechanical design to support cutting-edge automotive development.
What You Will Do
- Oversee the conversion, maintenance, and servicing of test infrastructure, including vehicles, benches, racks and superstructures.
- Update software releases within test infrastructure, as well as retrofit and maintain ECUs.
- Conduct software testing on test benches or test vehicles and produce detailed test reports.
- Creation of measurements reports and technical documentation.
- Develop conversion strategies for new vehicle wiring systems, interfaces, and control units.
- Plan and manage the deployment of test infrastructure in collaboration with project management and clients.
- Prepare comprehensive status reports regarding the maturity of overall test infrastructure.
- Ensure the functionality and compliance of all test vehicles and equipment with relevant legal and company standards.
- Support projects, set up, repair, implement changes in system benches, prototype vehicles, connection harnesses, developer hardware environments, project components, and logistics.
- Manage the logistics of components using the component management database.
- Engineer new hardware solutions based on specified requirements. Redesign and update PCBs and schematics when critical errors are identified.
- Prepare electrical schematics and initial layouts for prototypes, followed by layout verification and testing.
- Implement hardware changes, analyze errors in electronic components and perform component rework, repairs, such as PCB replacements, soldering operations, and modifications.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor’s Degree in technical studies, or comparable training
- Several years of experience in vehicle electronics, on-board systems, bus systems and measuring technology
- Knowledge of software testing principles and methodologies
- Knowledge of tools for diagnosis, flashing and coding
- Valid driver’s license
- Very good knowledge of Electrical, Electronics and Mechanics
- Very good handling in the assembly and electronics
- Systematic and logical and structured way of working
- High sense of responsibility, can work independently
- Good communication skills, friendly and helpful
Bonus Points if You Have
- Ability to analyze, to communicate and to present
- Technical and commercial English fluently, German is a plus
- Fundamental knowledge in terms of methodologies in software development
- Good knowledge of C/C++ and/or Python.
