About the Role
Technical and system experts, that will own, develop, and maintain the business applications built for Change & Configuration Management domains connected to PLM & Quality (ex. Program Management, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, etc).
Configuration Management means the process of building an enterprise with Clear, Concise, and Valid information that is Changed, Integrated, and managed throughout the Product Lifecycle achieving process excellence.
You will gain a focus area and expertise in Enterprise Systems and Development platforms. Portfolio of Technology includes Enterprise Sysems (ex. Siemens Teamcenter, Opcenter), Low-Code Development (ex. Mendix), Analytics (ex. QLIK), and Various Database/DataStructure frameworks (ex, Snowflake, Databricks)
You will work with members of your team CM Domain Leads (SME’s in Configuration & Change Management for a given business area) and business functional owners to own the development, implementation, rollout, maintenance, and continuous improvement of modules in your area in partnership with our Digital IT group who own the Enterprise Technologies from IT.
You will execute the development of custom applications as a Citizen-Developer built in a low-code platform and analytics platforms, in collaboration and supported by our Harman Digital IT, for new modules, capabilities, functions, features and user experience.
This role will work across Business and Digital teams to solve complex process and system issues enabling successful design, deployment, and integration in the Configuration Management Systems with related enterprise system enablers (PLM, ERP, MES, ALM).
This role will function and execute at a highly technical level regarding process and tools to build solutions that transform the business operations.
What You Will Do
- Act as a architect and owner of systems regarding Business Application, Design, functionality, data structures, and intersystem connections.
- Act as an owner between Business and Digital by owning the business outcomes and requirements related to Configuration Management (which is valid for all departments) and centralized system solution design that is typically missed in the fundamentals of software and system design.
- Design and build new procedures and systems as a Citizen Developer, both in collaboration with Harman Digital for enterprise Quality applications and in Low-Code Platforms (ex. Mendix) for custom user applications.
- Work closely with your teammates in Configuration Management to solve complex problems and support with exceptional tool design.
- Identify potential issues in change and quality management, formulating problem statements and developing solutions.
- Drive optimizations and improvements for PLM & Quality processes and upstream/downstream applications such as Teamcenter PLM, SAP or EDM.
- Performing as necessary administrative tasks in PLM & Quality Systems, SAP, and other master data applications.
- Support business departments (ex. Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement), dependending on assigned focus area, in their daily work with the systems.
- Perform Root Cause problem solving on complex business processes and system issues to enable continuous improvement and achievement of Quality & PLM phase objectives.
- Lead, own and drive creation of master data requirements to ensure effective launch of project deliverables.
- Develop in-depth knowledge of functional systems in place to establish and manage migration strategies as necessary for successful integrations.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Relevant technical Bachelor or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Computer Science, or Management Information Systems (MIS)
- 5 to 7 years working experience with any of the following industries: Tech, Automotive, Aerospace
- Demonstrated programming skill (ex. Java, Python, C++) and working with and in Databases (ex. SQL, NoSQL)
- Strong skills in software architecture design for scale and performance (ex. for application to Low-Code & Analytics)
- Ability to create effective presentations and project documentation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong competence in collaboration tools (Confluence, JIRA, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams).
- Exceptionally self-motivated and directed while ability to work in teams and motivate others in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Bonus Points if You Have
- AIAG Certification
- Masters Degree
- Experience with HTML & CSS
- Experience with Teamcenter, other PLM Applications, and enterprise systems
- Experience with Low Code Platforms (ex. Siemens Mendix)
- Experience with Database Technologies and Data Lakes (ex. Snowflake, Databricks)
- CMII Configuration Management certification (Certified or Professional)
- Professional certification in change management / project management
- Knowledge and application of continuous improvement philosophies
