Role Overview

The Solution/Platform Architect will be responsible for designing and overseeing the architecture of the WAISL platform, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability across hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud). This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver a robust, future-ready platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture Design
    • Define end-to-end architecture for the WAISL platform, including application, data, and infrastructure layers.
    • Ensure alignment with business goals and AOP roadmap phases (POC, MVP, Functional Enrichment).
  • Cloud & On-Prem Integration
    • Design hybrid deployment models ensuring portability and interoperability.
    • Implement best practices for cloud-native services and on-prem systems.
  • Security & Compliance
    • Collaborate with Cloud Security Architect to embed security controls (IAM, encryption, DevSecOps).
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Performance & Scalability
    • Design for high availability, disaster recovery, and auto-scaling.
    • Optimize architecture for cost efficiency and performance.
  • Platform Maturity
    • Drive observability, automation, and governance initiatives (Prometheus, Grafana, GitOps, Data Lineage).
  • Technical Leadership
    • Guide engineering teams on architectural decisions and technology stack.
    • Conduct architecture reviews and ensure adherence to standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Work closely with product managers, developers, and operations teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Technical Expertise
    • Strong experience in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
    • Proficiency in microservices architecture, API design, and event-driven systems.
    • Knowledge of CI/CD, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Helm).
  • Security
    • Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, vulnerability scanning, and compliance frameworks.
  • Observability & Automation
    • Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki) and automation frameworks.
  • Data & Governance
    • Understanding of data lineage, access control, and governance models.
  • Soft Skills
    • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in solution/platform architecture roles and 16+ years overall experience
  • Certifications: AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, Kubernetes CKA/CKAD.
  • Experience in aviation or large-scale enterprise platforms is a plus.
