About the Role
Under indirect supervision, solves complex problems, plans, coordinates, and/or executes, and controls activities for launch projects.
Responsible for the results of indicators: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, for the new product, until mass production introduction.
Must apply the philosophy of HPS. The employee has the authority granted by the company through this document to make decisions for the benefit of the company to ensure the conformity of the product, its quality, functionality, the health and safety of the person who intervenes in the process, according to quality, safety, and environmental systems, and customer-specific requirements.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for new Launch projects in the assigned area.
- Supports recurring meetings, both internal and external, to track the progress of the project.
- Apply a wide variety of techniques, practices, and procedures that enable us to solve problems and complex projects that require analytical skills and initiative with minimal supervision.
- Perform activities such as project management: planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and control of the program of activities and resources.
- Interacts with all departments: Quality, Production, Materials, Planning, Maintenance, project management, AME and Design.
- Leader of the launch process in all phases.
- Responsible for validating the integrity of BOM's of the Launch products.
- Request, analyze, and coordinate engineering changes when required.
- Perform internal/external deviations when required.
- Responsible for quotes for new products.
- Support and assure the deliverables of the launch project: PFMEA, Control plan, consumables, and all documentation according to NPI process requirements.
- Review process specifications with design staff to ensure our process is compatible with design objectives.
- Coordinating root cause problem-solving analysis for new launch projects.
- Responsible for Raw Material validation for new launch.
- Responsible for validation for new launch with the rest of the teams involved (Quality, AME, and operations)
- Responsible for requesting and coordinating new equipment or technologies to AME support function.
- Works closely with multi-disciplinary teams to effectively design and launch.
- Support and assure cost justifications and ROI for Launch projects.
- Request and coordinate the first article component inspection and approval withthe quality team
- Ability to read and interpret drawings (schematics).
- Represent the needs of the customer in internal functions according to the requirements of the Quality System and Customer Specific Requirements.
- Participate and provide support related to environmental, Health and Safety objectives, targets, and programs.
- Has the authority to stop a process or activity or give coaching if it detects unsafe or acts conditions that could put at risk the integrity and health of a worker and the environment, in coordination with the Production Supervisor.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Engineering Professional (Electronic, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronic, etc.).
- 5 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing facility
- 2 or more years of experience coordinating and launching projects.

- English required advanced (Reading and Writing, which allows fluid presentations of projects and/or participation in negotiation processes).
- Computer knowledge: Advanced (Office, drawing software, SAP, MS project).
- Knowledge of cost engineering.
- Deep Knowledge of PFMEA, BOM, Engineering Changes, and documentation control.
- Ability to understand mechanical drawings for parts and assemblies.
- Certifications: Green belt desired.
- Project administration training desired.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
