About the Role

This role focuses on Requirement Management and Change Management for automotive electronic systems including in-vehicle audio systems, cockpit domain controllers, and telematics or connectivity ECUs delivered to Japanese OEM customers.

The primary responsibility is to ensure the correct delivery of all requirements to the end product. It includes collect, structure and monitor the stakeholder requirements during the complete lifecycle processes, manage and report risk toward requirement delivery to customer. This position will ensure data maintenance in the Requirements Management tools, and will measure and report the process performance based on defined KPIs. This position will be the bridge between the customer and internal engineering teams for process and structure of requirements.

This position will report to requirement department head as organization perspective.

In addition, this role will also manage all Change requests issued from customer and internally. It mainly includes managing the change request process, ensuring all project stakeholders deliver the necessary input to progress on the Change request process.


What You Will Do

  • Customer Interface
    • Ensure availability of customer requirements specifications
    • Agreed on the requirement management process, especially requirement agreement process
    • Ensure availability of referenced documents (GCSR, ISOs, Norms, Standards,...) and handling
    • Clarify any unclear change request assumption, negotiate the reply deadline
       
  • Requirement Management
    • Ensure availability of customer requirement specifications for all project stakeholders in defined requirements tool
    • Manage the requirement process flow, lead the requirement stakeholder team to build the requirement schedule to ensure delivery.
    • Distribute customer requirements to project stakeholders (e.g. Functional Owner, Project Manager) for analysis and derivation of system requirements.
    • Exchange official evaluation result (DOORS / DNG) to the customer
    • Lead the engineering team to ensure agreement of requirement is completed for customer delivery
    • Ensure data maintenance in the Requirements Management tools
    • Create the requirements specification baselines
    • Escalate any risk toward the requirement management to high level project stakeholder based on KPIs data

  • Change Management
    • Serve as the Change Request process owner and ensure customer requirements are delivered through a tailored process.
    • Request technical analysis and effort estimation for requirements from the Engineering Team.
    • Review and verify quotations from a requirements/system perspective.
    • Visualize overall CR status and share KPI updates with relevant stakeholders.

  • Tracking and Monitoring
    • Measure and report the process performance based on defined KPIs
    • Track and report missing analysis information
    • Track and report completeness of traceability/linking
    • Track and report completeness of requirement agreement with customer

What You must have

  • Strong leadership skills, proactive attitude, and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Intolerance toward vagueness
  • Ability to surface risks early and escalate them with clear context, impact, and next steps, rather than waiting for issues to materialize.
  • Displays a governance‑oriented mindset, respecting defined processes, decision ownership, escalation paths, and compliance requirements
  • Communicates effectively at customer and senior stakeholder level, not limited to technical or execution discussions
  • Demonstrates decision‑driving behavior, taking accountability to move topics to clear outcomes rather than remaining at analysis level.
  • Ability to read and interpret customer specifications and proactively clarify ambiguities instead of passing them downstream.
  • Fluent communication skills in English and Japanese
  • Basic knowledge of requirements management logic
  • 5 Years of experience working with or for a Japanese automotive supplier / carmaker

What You may have

  • Knowledge of Requirements Management Tool “Doors Next Generation”, “DOORS”, and Doors exchange mechanism
  • Knowledge of RFI/RFQ process
  • Knowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE®)
  • Configuration management rules and tools especially baselining
