HR Business Partner (German speaking)

About the Role:

As our HR Business Partner, you will work closely with teams in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, and Switzerland to help build a strong, engaging, and high‑performing workplace. You’ll operate as both a strategic advisor and a hands‑on HR practitioner, supporting the full range of HR activities from attracting and onboarding talent to developing capabilities, supporting employee relations, strengthening performance, and driving people‑focused change.
What You Will Do:
Strategic & Operational HR Partnering
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders across multiple European countries, providing hands‑on support and expert HR guidance.
- Deliver effective day‑to‑day HR support while driving long‑term strategic people initiatives.
- Partner with leaders to strengthen organisational capability, support growth, and enable workforce planning.
Employee Relations, Legal & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with labour laws across European jurisdictions, including Employer of Record arrangements.
- Manage employee relations cases and lead investigations when required.
- Maintain HR policies that are aligned with local regulations and evolving business needs.
- Collaborate closely with the German Works Council (Betriebsrat) and employee representative groups across other European locations, managing consultations, documentation, and compliance.
Talent Acquisition, Development & Engagement
- Support recruitment, selection, and onboarding across European offices.
- Coordinate and deliver learning and development initiatives that build organizational capability.
- Contribute to employee engagement activities and internal communication efforts.
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
- Partner with payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payroll, benefits, and HR transactions.
- Support compensation cycles, job evaluations, and benchmarking processes.
- Collaborate with Finance and Sales on sales bonus administration.
HR Operations & Systems
- Maintain accurate employee data and documentation across all HR processes.
- Manage HR changes, workflows, and reporting in Workday.
- Produce clear, actionable HR reports and insights.
Change Management & Projects
- Lead and support HR workstreams in reorganizations, structural changes, and post‑acquisition integration.
- Manage cross‑functional HR projects, ensuring effective stakeholder communication and smooth change implementation.
What You Need to Be Successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
- At least 5 years of HR Business Partner experience, ideally in an international or multi‑country environment.
- Strong knowledge of European employment law.
- Proven experience working with a German Works Council and/or within the German regulatory context.
- Ability to operate confidently at both strategic and operational levels.
- Strong stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to influence and exercise sound judgment.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, change delivery, and post‑acquisition integration.
- Fluency in German, Dutch, and English; French is an advantage.
- Strong Excel/spreadsheet capabilities and confidence working with data and reporting.
- Experience using Workday or a similar HRIS.
- Flexible, detail‑oriented, self‑managing, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across dispersed teams.
