About the Role

As Account Management Manager, you will lead a team of high performing account managers and be responsible for ensuring long-term commercial success and customer satisfaction for a portfolio of Harman customer projects. You will be actively contributing to overall Harman customer business strategy and maintain high-level customer relationships with insights into customer’s product / platform roadmap.

The role will mainly be focused on commercial related activities but will occasionally be called upon to support other areas of our business.

The dynamic nature of this position and breadth of activities that you will be involved in will ensure no two days are the same and that you have the opportunity to learn on a daily basis.

What You Will Do

This position is responsible for day-to-day Account Management activities and supporting the overall business needs.

  • Business Operation
  • Develop and maintain the customer account strategy and be the primary contact from Harman to capture and propagate the strategic and commercial voice of customer for a select portfolio of customer projects
  • Lead 5 years plan, 10 years plan initiatives integrating account strategy, keep salesforce hygiene to keep accurate forecasting
  • Oversee commercial and legal agreements and customer negotiations for awarded business
  • Closely track customer satisfaction at senior levels, and provide strategies for course corrections when needed
  • Ownership of commercial targets (revenue, EBIT, Cash Flow) for your portfolio of customer programs
  • Own continuity of awarded business (extensions, follow-ons, CRs) with a view on continued lifetime profitability of your portfolio
  • Develop and maintain a relationship map, including status of relationship, goals and actions to get to desired state
  • Manage annual event, marketing activities working closely with marketing team as hub in CAM organization

  • Account Management
  • Data Management on Pricing (Tooling, Piece Price), Sales volume forecast/actual.
  • Change Request Management
  • Part Number Management, APR and Tooling
  • PO/Quotation preparation and follow through to closure
  • Coordinating responses for customer surveys/ investigations and ensuring timely reply
  • Account Receivables to Toyota
  • Analyze and understand market, product portfolio and competitive landscape

  • Sales Operation
  • Account Receivables
  • Coordinate information related to activities within our global operations that impact our customer (Capacity, Part Availability, Product Transfers, New Product Introductions, End of Production management etc.)
  • Manages N- Study Process to support business & production planning

  • General
  • Develop and maintain relations with customer
  • Prepare reports for senior management
  • Ensuring CR’s are analyzed and responded to appropriately

What You Need

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred (MBA is beneficial)
  • Language: Fluency (written and verbal) in Japanese, Business Ability (written and verbal) in English
  • Experience: 5 Years B2B environment with preferably Japanese OEM’s
  • General:
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, including oral presentations and business writing
  • Willingness to look for improvement opportunity as KAIZEN mindset.
  • Interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers and a team player with Harman.
  • Negotiation skills to find solutions that work for customers and Harman.
  • Critical thinker who can think on their feet
  • Flexibility and business acumen to deal with customer requests
  • Willingness to continuously stretch to reach goals.
  • Excellent MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point). Especially Excel.
  • Strong project management skills with experience gaining consensus and driving deliverables with individuals inside and outside the organization
  • Comfort level working with financial/accounting data.
