About the Role
As Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible to grow Harman’s automotive business to meet customer specific booking targets and lead various regional tasks to secure the customer account, sales management in Hiroshima, mainly west Japan region. You will engage with the customer(s) in an early stage to create business opportunities and drive our global team to these opportunities with healthy commercials to award, as well as need to secure customer account management to ramp up for a serial production.
What You Will Do
- Build or maintain a customer relation and fully understand customer expectations (cost, requirements, timing, strategy) and define internal targets to meet
- Identify key stakeholders and decision makers to build up a relationship in order to develop new business pipeline and make a strategic approach to win new business
- Customer engagement up to management level, and leading business in Hiroshima
- Initiative to support CAM ROJ in Japan by managing various regional tasks for a local customer account
- Initiate long term sales plan, target and strategy to execute the pursuit activity for new business opportunities in alignment with the customer strategy.
- Actively seek to identify a new opportunity to trigger new pursuits by driving early engagement activities including “war gaming” and 10 standards before RFI/RFQ
- Own RFI/RFQ response for new business opportunities and throughout acquired project launch for responsible to lead a global team for the quote/project activity as well as for commercial sourcing negotiations with the customer
- All account sales tasks in the region as an account management
- By mutual communication with customer, to understand customer needs or pain point to propose Harman unique selling proposition and convince our value
- Strongly drive our internal global team to build and execute the customer-fit strategy
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor’s Degree Or equivalent
- 5+ years in Automotive industry with related various sales experience preferred
- Various experience in account management, business pursuit, project execution, SOP and serial maintenance for J-OEM project
- Experience of handling customer EDI’s and all the document or process work
- Pro-active, independent, self-starter and willing to challenge
- Good automotive engineering knowledge or understanding, specially In-Cabin solution
- Thorough understanding of P&L statements, business cases and quotes / contracts
- Strong initiative and team management experience
- With a good teamwork mindset, actively support project team
- Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skill, with strategic thinking
- Build up and maintain a solid customer relationship in management level
- Business travel required by needs (Domestic/International)
- English communication skill
Bonus Points if You Have
- 5+ years in J-OEM account management experience, and master J-OEM business norm
- Sales experience with multiple J-OEMs for a medium to large projects
- Experience in major Teir 1 supplier preferred
- Experience in International team management
- Basic understanding of In-Cabin product (IVI, DCM, AR-HUD) as well as SW business

- Be willing to work in an {office, manufacturing facility, client-site} OR This role is eligible to work remotely full-time with occasional trips to customer locations (this could be on 24-hour notice)
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
