About the Role
This individual contributor role is responsible for defining and enabling the standards required to deliver consequent improvement in both supplier delivery performance and supplier operations efficiency. The scope of this role includes broad coverage of supplier delivery and operational efficiency topics, including the definition and implementation of relevant KPIs, supplier network optimization, supply assurance and associated inventory models (including consignment), change management (including part termination notices as well as production launch and ramp), supplier on-boarding efficiency, master data management efficiency and robotic process automation to name a few. This role reports into the Operational Procurement Lead.
Your Team
This role is an individual contributor role within the Operational Procurement function.
What You Will Do
- Lead the definition and implementation of performance standards enabling HARMAN to reach top-quartile performance in supplier delivery performance and operational efficiency.
- Build robust collaboration with Operational Procurement functions and Supply Chain Management function to establish regular cadence of problem solving and continuous improvement identification, focusing on supplier delivery performance and operational efficiency.
- Define and lead pilot projects to evaluate new standards, new methods, new workflows and new tools/technologies enabling meaningful improvements in performance and efficiency.
- Collaborate with HARMAN’s Digital (IT) organization to scale pilot efforts for production use.
- Actively engage with HARMAN Automotive’s strategic suppliers to identify opportunities for joint collaboration. Utilize these engagements to take regular pulse of strategic supplier feedback on the HARMAN engagement into the supply base.
- Actively employ formal problem solving tools and lean six sigma principles (including deployment of DMAIC methodology) to support the identification and prioritization of improvement opportunities. Collaborate with stakeholders across the Automotive business, including Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing, to address cross-functional improvement opportunities.
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operation, Supply Chain or related field.
- 15+ years of related experience in strategic sourcing, procurement operations and supplier delivery management with a demonstrated record of deep expertise and increasing scope across supplier delivery and procurement operations.
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a global supply chain environment covering the Americas, Europe and APAC.
- Deep technical understanding of SAP’s ERP system.
- Experience with procurement related tools that integrate with SAP ERP environment (e.g., iValue, Ariba).
- Demonstrated ability to handle parallel project while maintaining clear focus on executing to required deadlines and project objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with broad set of stakeholders including Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing. Must be able to simplify complex topics to effectively communicate to key care-abouts to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with large, multi-national companies supplying into the Automotive electronics industry.
- Experience in the field of Automotive manufacturing.
- Strong willingness and desire to coach and mentor junior members of the organization. This includes development of training in the areas of supplier delivery and procurement operations.
- Demonstrated English communication skills and fluency.
- Demonstrated proficiency in standard tools including Microsoft’s Office suite of tools.
What is Nice to Have
- Experience with Siemens Team Center Product Lifecycle Management tools.
- Experience in Lean Six Sigma / Agile or other business process improvement methodologies. Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desired.
- Additional language skills: Spanish, Mandarin/Chinese, Hungarian, German and/or Portuguese
