About the Role

This position will be responsible for defining and testing the material properties of analysis requested to Materials Laboratory. Job responsibilities include testing, collecting and recording data, taking measurements, analyzing data, sample preparation, assisting in trials, and maintaining laboratory supplies and lab safety. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record working in a lab testing and troubleshooting material, product, and/or process failures while executing test plans.

What You Will Do

  • Defining, testing, and troubleshooting material and process-related properties 
  • Complete test requests using the available laboratory test equipment, additional company labs, or outside labs when test equipment is not available.
  • Identify and analyze material cost saving opportunities in current or pending products.
  • Participate in component problem analysis and resolution
  • Technical writing of work instructions and test reports
  • Work with other Materials Laboratory staff to ensure that the laboratory equipment is kept in good working order and calibrated
  • Keep the Materials laboratory organized and maintain good cleanliness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Participates and provides support related with quality and EHSS systems management, objectives, targets and programs.

  • A thorough understanding of best practice laboratory procedures and the use of laboratory equipment such as
  • Experience in characterization techniques such as FTIR, DSC, mechanical test equipment, goniometer, couloscope, and viscometers is a plus, not all required
  • Knowledge of proper handling of chemicals and materials is required
  • Experience in problem solving
  • Microsoft office
  • Good working understanding of Minitab
  • 2 years of experience in the similar position
  • 50% English
  • Bachelor’s or engineering degree
  • Experience in basic analysis on materials characterization
  • Good reporting skills
  • Core Tools

  • MSA

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Knowledge of proper handling of chemicals and materials is required.
  • Knowledge on handling of pallet jack and cut materials.
  • Knowledge of usage of electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of advance techniques of materials characterization and interpretation
  • Advance analysis and reporting skills
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Basic on working with CFT
