About the Role
As Procurement Manager – Source Board Governance & Supplier Contract Management at HARMAN, you will play a central role in driving procurement governance, supplier contract management, and senior-level decision-making. You will be responsible for the planning, execution, moderation, and follow-up of procurement source boards, while also owning central standards and governance for supplier contracts across categories.
The source board is a senior, cross-functional decision forum involving stakeholders up to the Senior Vice President – Procurement and BCA. In this role, you will ensure high-quality preparation, compliance with sourcing and governance standards, and effective execution of decisions. You will act as a confirmation and approval instance for source board maturity, challenge content quality, and ensure transparency and accountability.
In parallel, you will serve as a central procurement expert for supplier contract management, defining standards, leading negotiations, ensuring compliance, and aligning stakeholders across functions. You will collaborate closely with category management, legal, finance, and other cross-functional partners to ensure robust supplier agreements that support HARMAN’s strategic sourcing objectives.
What You Will Do
Source Board Governance, Coordination, and Execution
· Plan, coordinate, and execute procurement source board events throughout the year, ensuring participation of cross-functional stakeholders and senior management.
· Drive pre–source board alignment with Category Management to ensure readiness, compliance, and maturity of presentations.
· Review, challenge, and approve source board presentations and closure maturity, ensuring alignment with HARMAN sourcing standards.
· Moderate source board meetings at senior management level, facilitating structured discussions, clear decisions, and aligned outcomes.
· Maintain source board protocols, documentation, and decision records in designated systems.
Source Board Tracking, Reporting, and Follow-Up
· Track upcoming, delayed, and completed source board presentations and actions.
· Monitor execution and closure of tasks assigned by the SVP – Procurement and BCA and other senior stakeholders.
· Drive escalation for overdue decisions or actions and coordinate resolution with responsible organizations.
· Prepare management reporting on source board progress, risks, decisions, and execution status to ensure transparency and accountability.
Supplier Contract Standards and Governance
· Define, own, and continuously improve central standards and governance for supplier contracts across procurement categories.
· Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and procurement best practices.
· Act as procurement subject matter expert for supplier contract management, providing guidance and support to stakeholders.
Contract Negotiation and Stakeholder Alignment
· Lead and support negotiations of supplier contracts in close collaboration with Category Management and cross-functional stakeholders.
· Align requirements, terms, and conditions to achieve balanced, compliant, and value-driven agreements.
· Foster cross-functional alignment and stakeholder acceptance at all management levels.
· Prepare decision materials, recommendations, and escalation topics for senior management where required.
Continuous Improvement and Expertise
· Drive continuous improvement of Source Board governance, contract standards, reporting, and execution quality. Drive Implementation of Source Board Governance & Contracting in Ivalua.
· Apply deep understanding of procurement, strategic sourcing, and direct material requirements to challenge content and improve decision-making.
· Stay informed on procurement governance and contract management best practices and apply them within HARMAN.
What You Need
· Bachelor’s or University degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· 5–8 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, or related roles.
· Strong understanding of procurement governance, sourcing processes, and supplier contract management.
· Proven experience presenting and defending complex sourcing strategies, business cases, and recommendations to senior management.
· Excellent negotiation, communication, project & stakeholder management skills.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
· Proficiency with procurement and supplier management systems and tools.
What Is Nice to Have
· Experience with source board governance or similar senior decision forums.
· Experience across different procurement functions or central procurement roles.
· Exposure to global, cross-regional procurement organizations.
