About the Role:
The Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of a family of products to our internal organization compliant with the published roadmaps and in alignment with approved budgets & engineering capacity. The Program Manager is further responsible for the integration and the technical integrity of products from initial concept design to customer deployment. During these phases the responsibilities are not limited to, but include product performance KPIs, feature delivery and timing commitments, resource capacity forecasting, and doing the “Basics Brilliantly”. This requires both mind-set and a set of activites that include requirements’ analysis against a product solution, cross-functional domain execution, evaluation and prioritization of incoming requests of work and many other key actities that lead to successful product delivery. The Program Manager will also be responsible to coordinate pursuits within Ready Vision for customer RFI/RFQ’s and be able to work with the cross functional team to successfully submit a quote to our customers.
What you will do:
- The Program Manager is responsible for the delivery of a family of products to our internal organization compliant with the published roadmaps.
- Works to agreed program targets: timing, budget, cost & quality. Leads gating activities for the assigned programs.
- Overall technical and commercial program leadership for all related program teams for a family of Ready Vision Products
- Responsible for overall technical system integration of hardware, software and mechanical design into a cohesive product.
- Acts as a role model in terms of leadership and code of business conduct in program management.
- Interface towards Product Management for all aspects of technical status, program progress and product alignment.
- Interface with internal CAM, Procurement & Logistics teams and also suppliers to be able to respond to Customer RFI/RFQ’s
- Management reporting internally incl. SBU Leader (Director level and above)
- Moderate based on comprehensive expertise around AR HUD technologies the program related discussion, drive the development of competitive business cases, negotiations with internal suppliers and external suppliers.
- Constantly tracks program key performance indicators and sets priorities for optimization.
- Works with procurement to ensure license and royalty prices are best-in-class and correct
- Support VAVE initiatives with ideas and research.
What You Need:
- University degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Information Technology) or Business Administration or appropriate graduation.
- Track record as a very successful team leader and program manager for complex systems with experience not less than 5 years.
- Several successfully steered high value, complex or strategic programs in global development.
- Broad technical and methodical knowledge in all areas of Team-, Program- ,Project- and Product Life Cycle Management (generalist)
- Ability to understand complex systems, to break down and structure into reasonable parts so dependencies become visible, describable and thus manageable.
- Ability to define, pursue and reach strong and measurable individual aims corresponding to general HARMAN strategy and to integrate people, to resolve conflicts, broad intercultural experience, Excellent communication skill
- Must have a "whatever-it-takes" attitude using diplomatic leadership skills within a collaborative teamwork environment to accomplish the necessary results,
- Proven and effective communication, analytical, judgment, initiative and execution skills.
What is Nice to Have:
- 5+ years’ experience in embedded system development and launch issue resolution as a hands on contributor.
- Drive for results, team player, change orientation, customer focus, self-awareness.
- Experience with managing distributed development teams is preferred.
- Automotive and infotainment industry experience incl. Functional Safety (ISO 26262).
- Vehicle systems and network architecture practical knowledge.
- Automotive business landscape knowledge.
What Makes You Eligible:
- Willingness to travel 30% of the time.
- Willingness to work in an office in Pune (preferred) / Bangalore - India. After on boarding (6-12 month) Harman Flex is applicable.
