About the Role

The responsibility of this position is to provide customer-facing System/Software technical interface support for the pursuit, development, integration, and production launch of Harman’s products into customer vehicles. The specific responsibilities can include providing customer engineering interface, troubleshooting issues, supporting vehicle builds, supporting vehicle launch, and coordinating data with customer data systems. The tasks will change depending on the customer, product, and phase of development/launch.

What You Will Do

· The primary responsibility includes requirement development for platform group which is the core of Harman Connected /Telematics Devices programs.

· The engineer is expected to prepare the high-level requirements in consultation with

customer interfacing teams, function owners and domain experts.

· The engineer will be a part of the program team and in addition to this he/she will be

performing hands on tasks as required.

· Responsible for interpretation of Market-driven requirements and translating them into

platform requirements.

· Responsible for requirement analysis and ensure availability of requirement

specifications for all project stakeholders.

· Responsible for analyzing & generating Change Request documentation for approval by

the customer or stakeholders in lieu of updated customer requirements describing the

change

· Tracking completion of requirements analysis process and reporting of status to project

management

· Responsible for variant handling of product lines in automotive domain

· Responsible for deriving of performance, robustness & implied requirements

· Support in ensuring traceability among requirements and traceability to design documents, test plans and work tasks

What You Need to Be Successful

· At least 8+ years of experience in design and development.

· Customer Facing Experience

· Product development and launch experience

· The person must have a strong understanding of Automotive domain (preferably Infotainment/Telematics)

· Working knowledge of software development tools, JIRA, CONFLUENCE.

· Working knowledge of software development processes V Model & ALM tools

· Embedded software (Automotive) experience in development and testing

· Working knowledge of diagnostics, Vehicle interface, manufacturing process

· Automotive System Knowledge and Experience

· Aware of all Federal Standards, industry standards and internal standards and assure that the resulting design will satisfy these requirements

Bonus Points if You Have

· Master’s degree in an engineering field

· Prior experience as a customer-facing engineer, application engineer, or design engineer for automotive electronics products.

· Knowledge of Automotive Testing Standard (A-SPICE)

· Product launch experience
