About the Role 

 

Harman Automotive is looking for a motivated and passionate professional to define automotive software strategy. Role requires understanding of Harman products and services portfolio and ability to take our go-to-market strategy in a compelling way in customer pursuits. Ability to make recommendations based upon internal and external factors to achieve long-term goals. 

 

 

What You Will Do 

 

  • Supporting the development of long-term product strategy for Automotive software 

  • Synthesize global and regional market trends, market sizing, technology trends, and customer & consumer insights to determine opportunities for investments 

  • Identifying threats and opportunities. 

  • Presenting findings, building projections and recommended actions. 

  • Planning, implementing and managing proposed recommendations and projects. 

  • Monitoring and reporting on projects. 

  • Supporting and guiding senior executive decision-making processes. 

  • Influence global product strategies (product strategy reviews, technology capability assessment, innovation screening, price/cost curves) 

  • Cross Divisional planning and prioritization of product and aligned services portfolio 

  • Strategy, presales & M&A support (product training, tech partnership strategy, gap and target identification) 

  • Conduct market intelligence and assess competitive positioning by comparing Harman's product & services portfolio to competitors' products and eco-systems 

  • Think beyond the technology itself and understand key business drivers that ensure technology investment will provide substantial value or improvements to customers 

  • Develop market and product requirements with a rolling 3–5-year iterative product and feature roadmap 

  • Leverage technologies within and outside of HARMAN to develop lasting and winning relationships to benefit the unique nature of the diverse HARMAN business. 

  • Identify Go-To-Market strategies and effective sales product / services pitches in close collaboration with product marketing and sales 

  • Work across organizational boundaries (Harman and Samsung) to drive a unified and best-in-class approach to Product Management & Business Development 

  • Working directly with clients to understand their business strategy, program requirements & processes 

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, clients, and key stakeholders. 

  • Respond positively and calmly to shifting priorities, demands, and timeline. 

  • Collaborate effectively with remote team members. 

 

 

What You Need to Be Successful 

 

  • Around 12-18 years experience or in-depth strategy or pre-sales or product management knowledge in Automotive SW & Services 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, MBA preferred 

  • Automotive relevant experience which includes working with Automotive OEMs 

  • Knowledge of automotive technologies and industry trends. 

  • Knowledge of business case development and basic financial metrics 

  • Experience working in a matrix, global organization by collaborating with key stakeholders 

  • Results and detail-oriented: hold him/herself and others accountable for commitments 

  • Effective C-Level communication skills 

  • Creative problem-solver with the ability to work with a blank slate and inspire others. 

  • Intellectual and curious with a passion for storytelling. 

  • Basic Project Management skills and ability to perform under tight timelines. 

  • Experience pivoting and navigating dynamic and changing situations. 

  • Proactive, self-sufficient, and professional, with strong organizational and time management skills. 

  • Passionate and enthusiastic about delivering powerful presentations. 

  • Flexibility to work in office or remotely, travel for business and work in multiple time zones as needed. 

 

 

Bonus Points if You Have  

 

  • Experience in working within an Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier in the Automotive industry.
