About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for driving the continued transformation of HARMAN Automotive into a leading technology player in the automotive software industry. 
As a senior leader of a global software delivery organization, you will hold end‑to‑end ownership for development activities across on‑board and off‑board software teams worldwide, ensuring consistent execution, quality, and alignment to customer commitments. You will lead the enhancement and evolution of HARMAN’s software products based on customer needs, while maintaining deep familiarity with the full HARMAN software portfolio.
You will act as a key stakeholder in shaping the vision of a highly robust and scalable platform that serves as the foundation for all products, while enabling controlled and efficient customization to meet specific customer requirements. Your role requires strong technical and strategic leadership, coupled with the ability to orchestrate collaboration across globally distributed teams, partners, and functions. You will be accountable for delivering complex, end‑to‑end solutions within committed timelines, managing development trade‑offs across regions and domains, and continuously raising the bar for quality, scalability, and operational excellence. In this role, you will report to the Software Product’s Customer Delivery Lead.

Your Team
Leads software organization with Development, QA, DevOps and Quality expertise, while closely interacting with other business/core units and our customers. 

What You Will Do 

  • Leadership & Team Management: Manage multiple development teams across regions, responsible for day‑to‑day leadership, performance, and skill development.
  • Promote strong ownership culture and continuous process improvement within engineering teams. 
  • Plan and control budget, including team capacity and cloud consumption.
  • Delivery: Full ownership on customer driven E2E development of on-board and off-board releases in high quality and demanding standards. Lead the planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery for multiple products and customers in time and quality. Overview the architecture and design process to insure minimal variation between customers and low maintenance cost. Estimation and commitment for development efforts including testing.
  • Decision Making: Make decisions guided by organizational objectives and resource availability.
  • Strategic Contribution: Foster a collaborative and innovative culture with different business units and peers and contribute to strategic thinking and shaping our future products.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and solve complex, operational, and organizational problems. Act as tier 4 for our support org, in production urgent matters, perform RCAs and suggest workarounds.
  • Strategic Guidance: Be guided by organization strategy and business plans, impacting department results by supporting projects, products, services, and/or technologies.
  • Others: Encourage leaders to act, interaction with external partners/customers.

What You Need to be Successful 

  • Bachelor’s degree in SW engineering, computer science or related field.
  • 10+ years of industry-related experience as Software development lead for global teams.
  • 7+ years of proven hands-on experience in a software development role.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail. 
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project delivery. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and lead a high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge and experience in CI/CD process 

Bonus Points if You Have 

  • Experience in AI driven development.
  • Hands on experience in JAVA, C++, GO and Rust.
  • Experience in Managing teams in Japan and in China.
  • Experience in SW development for the automotive industry with proven experience in ASPICE. 
  • Experience on development in a Cloud environment.
