About the Role 

 

The employee has the authority granted by the company through this document to make decisions for the benefit of the company to ensure the conformity of the product, its quality, functionality, the health and safety of the person who intervenes in the process according with quality, safety and environmental systems and customer specific requirements. 

Under indirect supervision, create plans, implement and controls activities that require knowledge and handle well concepts, practices, and procedures of its core area of expertise of engineering, such as: Industrial, Manufacturing, Product, etc. 

 
 
What You Will Do  

  • Responsible for manufacturing and process development during NPI launch projects, on their different gates, running validation process and providing build run issues and actions.  

  • Responsible of sustain and improve standardized work process: Operation diagram, Process documentation (OMS / VJI / Visual aid), time study, SWC (Standardized work chart), line balancing efficiency and line capacity analysis and improvement. 

  • Support manufacturing process, by defining work methods, material handling, fixtures and tools. Use different techniques, practices and procedures within their area of expertise that allow supporting plant internal projects. 

  • Responsible for maintaining routers (labor cost time) on SAP current and new products.  

  • Responsible plant layout changes based on new product and demand requirements. Coordinate layout changes with operations and maintenance.  

  • Support drawing changes. 

  • Responsible of process fixture and tools design, sourcing/fabrication and validation. 

  • Responsible of defining SPC,CPK, MSA, analysis and improvement.  

  • Responsible to define flow of the work centers SAP (labor) and SAP ME(MES system). 

  • Active lead and responsible of continuous improvement of process, though lean manufacturing tools and principles. 

  • Improvement in Ergonomics. 

  • Leader of PFMEA, Definition of Process Specs & BOM per operation, Process Times. 

  • Participate on definition of Control Plan with quality team. 

  • Conduct root cause problem solving analysis for the process. 

  • Participate and provide support related with Environmental, Health and Safety objectives, targets and programs. 

  • Interacts mainly with the departments of Quality, Production, Materials, Planning, and Maintenance, active team member of cross functional teams. 

  • Has the authority to stop a process or activity or give coaching if it detects unsafe or acts conditions, that could put at risk the integrity and health of a worker and environment coordinating though Production Supervisor. 

 

What You Need 

  • Engineering Professional (Electronic, Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronic, etc.). 

  • 2 years experience in the engineering department. 

  • 3 years of experience working on a manufacturing facility.

  • Computer knowledge:  Office, SAP, MS project, Minitab, 

  • CAD software knowledge: Intermediate: drawing software Solid Works, Auto Cad, Pro - Eng. Design Tools. 

  • Ability to understand mechanical drawings for parts and assemblies. 

  • Participate on New Product Introduction from prototypes, throughout mass production, product/process transfers, Increase Capacity, Process Improvements. 

  • BOM configuration and engineering change management knowledge. 

  • Risk Analysis oriented. 

  • Core Tools Knowledge (At lasts PFMEA, CP, MSA, SPC). 

  • Know how on DFM: Design for Manufacturing:  

  • Knowledge in Time study, line balancing, fixturization, and work standardization. 

  • Problem Solving and Continuous improvement skills. 

  • Process Optimization, Line Balancing, Process Design skills. 

  • Drive or participate on automation projects with AME and suppliers related to assembly process. 

  • Experience in the use of tools and manufacturing philosophies such as A3, Poka Yoke, 8D's, SMED, 5's, 8 Waste, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Etc. 

  • Conflict Management. 

  • Competencies: Team Player, Customer Focus, Leadership, Collaboration, Change orientation, Judgment and Results driven. 

  • Deep Knowledge in ergonomics topics is a plus. 

  • Knowledge on project management and capex project proposal to implementation. 

  • Proficiency on mechanical and assembly problem solving experience. 

  • Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
