About the Role
As the Automotive Communications Intern, you will support global internal communications and public relations for the HARMAN automotive division, gaining practical experience in creating and executing communication strategies and content. The internship provides opportunities to participate in real-world projects where you can enhance writing, communication, and analytical skills through diverse tasks.
What You Will Do
Lead the ideation and creation of internal content, telling meaningful stories about our people and automotive products.
Draft newsletters, email announcements, and internal videos, keeping automotive employees engaged and informed.
Research the latest communications tools and tactics, providing an informed recommendation on enhanced ways of working.
Support external communications efforts, including PR events, award submissions, and speaking engagements.
Support the research and creation of themes and thought leadership storytelling campaigns.
Collaborate with global teams across functions, gaining exposure to diverse areas of the business.
What You Need
Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited institution having completed your Sophomore year or later, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter before participation in the internship program, and returning to school for at least one semester upon completion of the internship program
Must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA
Must have taken courses in, or closely related to Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field
Must have strong oral and written communication skills and be able to confidently interact and present information to team and project leads
Must work collaboratively with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
What is Nice to Have
Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
A passion for writing
Video creation/editing experience
Interest in the automotive industry
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to work in an office/hybrid schedule in Novi, Michigan
Able to provide your own housing and transportation to/from work
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
Must provide full work availability from May 19, 2025 through August 8, 2025 and be able to work 40 hours per week

Freshman: $19.00
Sophomore: $21.00
Junior: $23.00
Senior: $24.00
Master: $28.00
Dependent on the internship offered, pay is based on factors, including without limitation, the applicant's level of education and business need.
