About the Role
Responsible for supervising and ensuring proper management of scrap generated in electronic manufacturing processes, ensuring control, traceability, safe disposal, and compliance with corporate policies, quality standards, and environmental regulations, while promoting waste reduction and value recovery. You will lead the development of ongoing scrap reduction projects and track metrics. In this role, you will report to the different department managers. Develop ideas to achieve process optimization, increase capacity, and cost inventory reduction through continuous improvement and innovative strategies for deployment, applying Harman Production System philosophy.
What You Will Do
Manage scrap inventory (electronic and other material) from its generation to its final disposal.
Register, classify, and document scrap by type, cause, generating area, and economic value.
Analyze scrap trends to identify root causes and reduction opportunities.
Coordinate the segregation, storage, and safe handling of scrap.
Prepare monthly scrap reports: volume, cost, top offenders, recovery, and savings.
Provide support with internal and external audits (quality, environmental, and client).
Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance to reduce waste and improve processes.
Authorize movements and dispositions of scrap under the established guidelines.
Request corrective actions related to excessive scrap generation.
Support for manufacturing areas.
Keep areas focused on the philosophy 5S’s.
Maintain documentation updated.
Personal payroll.
KPI, IKPI, and Scorecard metrics.
Attendance of meetings (5S’s, Yield, SQDC, etc.).
Planning for support to manufacturing areas.
What You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering or related career.
1 to 3 years in manufacturing.
Experience in the electronics industry is desirable.
ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, similar).
Safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Data analysis and report preparation.
Teamwork & Respect.
Advanced English level 80% (reading and writing).
Risk-oriented analysis.
Core Tools knowledge (At least FMEA, CP, MSA, SPC).
Problem-solving and Continuous improvement skills.
Conflict Management.
Basic usage of the Microsoft Office suite.
Bonus Points if You Have
Organization and administrative control.
Attention to detail and discipline in records.
Data analysis and focus on continuous improvement.
Effective communication and teamwork.
Integrity and handling of confidential information.
Ability to handle a variety of projects simultaneously without compromising delivery dates.
