In our environmental labs, the Product Reliability team performs climatic and mechanical hardware tests on all Automotive Electronic Devices (i.e.: Amplifier, Microphone, Accelerometer, Grill, ALT-Acoustic Lens Test; Head Unit, RADAR) before they go into serial production. HW validation tests like the following help us to ensure that our products function under all possible environmental conditions and deserve the “automotive grade” rating.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate and supervise facilities actions/activities, equipment and personnel for multiple automotive business units and their phases. Officially schedule validation efforts
- Determine capability and capacity of laboratory equipment. Optimize equipment utilization
- Ensure calibration and maintenance activities are properly scheduled, accounted for, and documented
- Support regional budget planning for environmental testing supporting multiple business units. Propose capital equipment and operation expense needs
- Develop, coach, and lead team towards achievement of individual and group goals; hire, train, evaluate employee performance
- Ensure global and regional processes and procedures are followed; verifying team acceptance and adherence. Promote development of new procedures as necessary
- Support any/all laboratory accreditations
What You Need to Be Successful
- Other tasks in the scope of the position assigned by the direct superior
- Keeping „5S“ rules specified by the company
- Complying with labour safety, fire protection, environmental protection and ESD regulations
- Knowledge of the design, integration, manufacturing, and testing of automotive electronics along with experience with automotive interface/communication technologies
- Clear understanding of environmental test procedures, execution and reporting
- BSEE, BSEET, BSCS, BSME or equivalent accredited degree
- 5+ years’ environmental qualification, 3+ years’ management experience; automotive electronics industry background highly desirable
- High degree of initiative, responsibility, flexibility, motivation, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English (written & verbal) is required
- Failure analysis/problem solving methodology 8D/A3
Bonus Points if You Have
- Strong experience with IATF 16949 / ISO 17025. History working in an accredited laboratory
- Good familiarity with MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
- Clear understanding of organizational metrics and their use to drive change
- Background in design/operation/testing of automotive amplifiers, speakers, radios, displays, ADAS, and/or Telematics
- Ability to excel working within highly dynamic situations
