About the position:

You will support Harman Research in exploring, developing, and evaluating modern Artificial Intelligence solutions for automotive and lifestyle products. Harman Research provides access to a network of senior AI researchers who will mentor the student through structured guidance, regular feedback, and clearly defined learning objectives. The role focuses on learning-by-doing in a research-driven but highly applied environment.

Your team:

You will be part of a global research organization combining academic excellence with industrial impact, working closely with experts in Artificial Intelligence, software engineering, and product innovation.

What You Will Do:

• Support research and prototyping activities related to Artificial Intelligence and data analysis

• Investigate deployment strategies for Large Language Models in cloud-based and scalable environments

• Experiment with fine-tuning open-source language models such as Qwen, Gemma, LLaMA, …

• Design, modify and train traditional Neural Network models, such as CNN, GAN, etc

• Explore parameter-efficient adaptation and optimization techniques for foundation models

• Contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of agent-based and graph-based language model workflows

• Analyze experimental results and document findings in a structured and reproducible manner

What You Need:

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field

• Solid programming skills in Python

• Basic knowledge of deep learning frameworks, preferably PyTorch

• Interest in Large Language Models, natural language processing, and applied AI research

• Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment concepts (e.g., Azure) is a plus

• Self-organized, proactive working style and curiosity to explore new topics independently

• Motivation to learn and grow rather than presenting a “perfect” or complete skill set as well as extensive industry experience
