Senior C++/Android Audio Engineer (PulseAudio, Audio Flinger)

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced C++/Android Audio Engineer with 6-9 years of experience in developing audio solutions for Android-based systems. You’ll focus on PulseAudio client-server communication and Audio Flinger development to ensure high-quality audio and low-latency performance.

What You Will Do- Audio Architecture:

    - Develop and maintain audio components for Android-based systems, including PulseAudio client-server communication.

    - Work on Audio Flinger and audio routing to ensure seamless audio playback.

- C++ Development:

    - Write efficient, scalable, and maintainable C++ code for audio processing and communication.

    - Use C++ libraries and frameworks such as PulseAudio API and Android NDK.

- Android Integration:

    - Integrate audio components with Android framework and HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer).

    - Ensure compatibility with various Android versions and devices.

- Performance Optimization:

    - Optimize audio performance for low-latency and high-quality playback.

    - Use profiling tools to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

What You Need

- 6-9 years of experience in C++ development and Android audio development.

- Strong knowledge of C++ and Android NDK.

- Experience with PulseAudio and Audio Flinger.

- Familiarity with Android audio architecture and HAL.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Points

- Experience with other audio frameworks (e.g., ALSA, OpenSL ES).

- Knowledge of audio codecs (e.g., AAC, MP3, Opus).

- Familiarity with Linux kernel development and device driver programming.

- Experience with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

Skills to Enhance

- Advanced C++ techniques (e.g., template metaprogramming, concurrency).

- Android audio development and PulseAudio.

- Audio performance optimization and profiling.
