About the Role
This role is responsible for independently handling accounting activities without supervision, including daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries, month-end closing, reporting, and account reconciliations, as well as supporting compliance and audit activities.
What You Will Do
Work with global teams across geographies and all HARMAN businesses
Perform daily tasks independently and in accordance with written instructions
Collaborate across the entire general accounting and reporting function and with the line manager
Provide backup support for selected team members as assigned by the line manager
Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close, including accruals, provisions, reclasses, and other standard and ad hoc activities
Reconcile key GL and balance sheet accounts, perform aging analysis, and ensure timely closure of open items
Maintain and monitor GL accounts, cost centers, WBS elements, and AUC capitalization in SAP
Calculate rebates, commissions, royalties, and collaborate with AR on credit invoice processing
Track open reconciliation items with clear action plans and coordinate with stakeholders for resolution
Ensure compliance through control documentation reviews and support internal and external audits
What You Need to Be Successful
5 to 8 years of relevant experience in General Ledger Accounting
Strong accounting knowledge with a good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal
Enthusiastic self-starter and quick learner with excellent communication skills
Excellent MS Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong interpersonal skills for working with stakeholders and colleagues
Bonus Points if You Have
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Economics
Master’s degree or higher accounting qualification, which would be a distinct advantage
Good knowledge and experience working with SAP
Prior experience working in the shared services / BPO industry
