About the Role
This role is responsible for supporting Travel & Entertainment (T&E) transaction processing and auditing employee expense reports. It includes performing accounting activities in SAP and ensuring timely payment processing for Harman entities globally. The position will work closely with Finance leaders and business stakeholders to deliver accurate accounting and period-end closing services in line with Harman’s current and future business requirements. Additionally, the role will support the Finance Manager in managing day-to-day people and process operations for Accounts Receivable and Corporate Travel accounting functions.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with global teams across geographies and all Harman business units.
Perform daily activities independently while providing oversight and guidance to direct reports.
Oversee monthly Corporate Travel accounting and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations, including expense report posting and employee aging.
Conduct daily Travel & Entertainment (T&E) expense audits and maintain process trackers.
Ensure timely and accurate SAP postings, including accrual completeness where required.
Drive adherence to timelines, accuracy standards, and operational KPIs across all assigned activities.
Manage internal and external audit requests, ad hoc issue resolution, and stakeholder follow-ups.
Lead process improvements, contribute to strategic initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally with GL, AP, FA, and IC teams.
What You Need to Be Successful
3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a combination of core accounting and shared services environments.
In-depth functional understanding of related finance areas such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Disbursements, Bank Accounting, General Accounting, and Financial Reporting.
Hands-on experience in SAP journal entry processing.
Solid experience in General Accounting principles, processes, and techniques.
Solid accounting knowledge with a good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and colleagues.
High attention to detail, with strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
Bonus Points if You Have
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Master’s degree or higher accounting qualification, which would be a distinct advantage
Prior experience in a Shared Services or BPO environment.
Advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
