The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving demand and sales out for their assigned market within the EMEA region, to meet with sales targets and KPI’s. Our Professional Solutions in EMEA are managed through a distribution network. Business Development drive demand by interfacing with integrators, consultants and end users creating, managing and delivering a strategy for pipeline generation within their market.

What You Will Do:

The position will have a number of responsibilities and authority for making decisions as described below;

  • Develop and deliver a business development strategy/plans to successfully build new business avenues, drive demand and sales out within your assigned market. This strategy should be aligned with the wider strategy for EMEA set out by regional leadership.
    • Build demand for our products to maximise sales across our Performance Audio product ranges targeted at your assigned market. This will be facilitated through excellent product expertise, market knowledge, relationship development, customer support and understanding of customer needs.
  • Be the trusted face for your market within HARMAN. Including by:
    • Working closely with other internal teams to support objectives and deliver plans for example: Applications Engineering, Marketing and Sales Leadership.
    • Partner with regional marketing teams to define and drive marketing activities across the region.
    • Monitor and report back into the business key information from their market, such as trends, competitive activity, performance of our product range and future opportunities.
  • Be a trusted, credible representative and ambassador of HARMAN with key external stakeholders and influencers within your assigned market and own these relationships on HARMAN’s behalf. This includes:
    • Ensuring the relevant product range and its applications are understood within your market.
    • Ensure key people within the market have access to appropriate training and resources.
    • Represent the company in key market events and forums.
    • Create positive PR to grow the company’s reputation and brands within your assigned market.
  • Maintain the company’s CRM database to accurately reflect the ongoing sales and pipeline position.
  • Additional ad hoc project work and activities to support business initiatives and success.

What You Need to Be Successful:

  • Fluent English language skills (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Bachelor’s degree, diploma or technical/industry certification within an Audio discipline, business or sales.
  • Extensive experience working within professional touring market in areas relevant to this role.
  • Experience within the relevant regional market for this role.
  • Experience and demonstrable success within a business development role. Especially experience:
    • Influencing customers and closing deals.
    • Prospecting and new pipeline development.
    • Credibly presenting technical information.
    • Sales with large and long running projects.
  • Experience developing and implementing plans and projects ideally within a business setting.
  • Have the ability to understand customer requirements in professional touring market and effectively present/articulate audio solutions, particularly of interest would be experience with HARMAN products.

  • Additional language skills relevant to the region of this role.
  • Higher level business qualifications.

  • Willingness to travel 60%+ of the time.
  • Willingness to attend the office in Apsley, UK (EMEA HQ) for meetings.
