About the Role
The Manufacturing Plant Director is responsible for overseeing all daily operations at the plant, from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The position requires strong leadership, the ability to drive continuous improvement while developing strategies to maximize safety, quality, and productivity.
The Plant Director will lead cross functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure that all manufacturing objectives are met in alignment with organizational goals. On top of manufacturing, the plant director is responsible for service activities, repair of customer returns, and delivering materials to other service centers. To support the business, NPI milestone related production is to be executed in the plants as well, and via mature feedback loop and full support for development must be provided.
What You Will Do
- Lead, manage and oversee the full manufacturing operation of the plants, including production, quality control, maintenance, logistics and safety.
- Utilize strategies to build synergy and harmonize the two productions that are in one facility.
- Actively participate in the strategy definition for the operation, as well as driving the successful implementation of the actions. The leader is responsible for growing the business for the site, by maximizing operational footprint utilization and minimizing capital, optimizing technology in alignment with AME global standards.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare operational reports for senior leadership.
- Build and maintain a high-performing plant leadership team; mentor and develop staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts using Lean Manufacturing, or similar methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and legal guidelines, including health and safety regulations.
- Manage plant budgets and optimize expenditures while maintaining quality standards.
- Take responsibility for plant related profit/loss result
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and teamwork.
- The leader will manage the New Product introduction process, and build a very strong working relationship with development and project office
What You Need to Be Successful
- Continuous improvement mindset
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in senior leadership role.
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or equivalent.
- Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and complex projects.
- Experience in the electronic and audio industry
- Comprehensive program/project management skills
Bonus Points if You Have
- Master’s degree in business administration.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems.
What Makes You Eligible
- Willingness to work in manufacturing plant in Tijuana, Mexico.
- Willingness to travel 10% of the time international and domestic.
