About the Role
As a QA Engineer, you will develop and execute both manual and automated test plans to identify software issues and their root causes. You will perform software compatibility testing across programs, hardware, operating systems, and platforms. This role involves testing a wide range of applications, from high-stakes engineering software and high-end audio equipment control systems to complex 3D acoustic modelling software. While the position does not include formal supervisory responsibilities, you may guide team members on the technologies and tools relevant to your role.
What You Will Do
- Monitor QA and testing activities in alignment with overall project plans.
 - Provide recommendations for planning and selecting software and hardware testing tools.
 - Collaborate proactively with software developers and product teams to design comprehensive test plans.
 - Enhance and optimize system and software testing processes.
 - Deliver regular status updates and performance metrics to the department manager.
 - Ensure compliance with quality standards, systems, and procedures, and mentor staff accordingly.
 - Perform manual and automated testing of web, desktop, and API applications.
 - Continuously improve testing methodologies and test case designs.
 - Develop manual test cases and automation scripts for products under test.
 - Document all test steps, results, and issues thoroughly in the bug-tracking system.
 - Automate functional, regression, and performance test cases in a timely manner.
 - Execute end-to-end, user-focused test scenarios, document results in test reports, and recommend optimizations.
 - Collaborate with other test resources including engineers, interns, product owners, and external beta testers to complete project assignments.
 
What You Need to Be Successful
- 6+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Engineering.
 - Expertise in manual and automated testing of API, mobile, desktop, and web applications.
 - Hands-on automation experience with API, mobile, desktop, and web applications.
 - Experience developing test automation frameworks (Mocha, Cucumber, Jasmine).
 - Experience in test automation development using Java, JavaScript, or Python.
 - Experience with automation tools such as EggPlant or Cypress.
 - Ability to create NFR test scenarios for load, stress, and performance.
 - Solid understanding of the DevOps CI/CD pipeline.
 - Experience working with DevOps teams to build and improve automated test suites in CI/CD pipelines to deliver faster with quality.
 
Bonus Points if You Have
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field.
 - Knowledge of the audio domain and installations.
 - Coding experience in Python, JavaScript with TypeScript, or equivalent languages.
 - Experience with Git, Bitbucket, or similar source control management systems.
 - Exposure to client-server applications and Jenkins.
 - Familiarity with software testing methodologies and techniques.
 - Experience with Agile project management tools such as JIRA or Zephyr.
 - Adequate networking proficiency.
 - Testing experience with hardware and/or embedded devices is a plus.
 - Familiarity with Linux systems and commands.
