About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Team Manager to join our Software Product Delivery group, where the focus will be on designing, developing, and leading activities related to new requirements and maintenance for our products and customers. Our OTA product is recognized as one of the most advanced and proven offerings for Automotive and Mobile OEMs and suppliers. The role also involves shaping the future Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) offering and defining the migration path from legacy products to a new, advanced architecture. Responsibilities include system component design, implementation, code review as well as mentoring team members and enhancing the development environment. The position requires integration of end-to-end solutions across automotive systems and operator networks, ensuring high technical quality and supporting the development of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and robust development infrastructure. The Technical Team Manager will work closely with Project Managers, Solution Architects, and Development and QA teams within the Solution Engineering organization. Your Team

What You Will Do

  • Lead Development/QA team located in Japan
  • Design/development of automotive OTA E2E solution (Cloud/On-premises)
  • Contribute to clarify customer requirement and transfer to global teams
  • Help analyzing customer requirement in Japanese
  • Have deep understanding in the products progression and Harman SDV offering
  • Review new architecture plans and create a migration path
  • Guide the team in adopting modern AI-driven methodologies, such as data-driven development, model-based design, and automated decision-making.
  • Embracing new technologies, running POCs and adaptation of our processes
  • Transfer knowledge to QA/technical support through documentation and meetings
  • Writing code to develop customer features, to improve our product, to deeply understand technical feasibility etc.
  • Investigate and analyze technical problems and making recommendations to improve software quality
  • Improve technical level of team members and development environment
  • 1. Integrate OTA E2E solution on On-premises or Cloud Services
  • 2. Build CI/CD development environment
  • 3. Build automation testing environment
  • 4. Coordination of onboarding trainings within the team and regional team

What You Need

  • Education: BSc. in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 3+ years of team management experience
  • 7+ years of work experience in Java programming or Embedded systems using C/C++
  • Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts, tools, and applications including hands on experience (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, automation tools)
  • Hands-on experience with development tools like: Maven, Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, GitHub
  • Linux hands-on, networking
  • Independent, experienced in learning new environments and assembling POC quickly, experienced in working under pressure and deadlines
  • Independent and Self Motivated
  • Native level Japanese
  • Business Level English skills (meeting, reporting and collaboration)

What is Nice to Have

  • Experience with development on Embedded OS software programming (Linux / Android / QNX)
  • Knowledge and experience in using: Spring Boot, JUnit, Cucumber
  • Experience with CI/CD related tools: Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with modern web development: Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, REST API
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell, Groovy, Gradle)
  • Experience & knowledge of DB – Oracle/PostgreSQL, SQL, Elasticsearch
  • Experience with Cloud Services like AWS/Azure/GCP
