About the Role:
As a SW Co Project Lead at Harman, you are responsible for successfully running the Software part of our Telematic Projects and ensure project deliveries in time, budget, and quality. You are the face to the customer for all SW topics. You are orchestrating the virtual, cross functional, global SW project team together with the Lead SW Project Lead.
What you will do:
- Deliver next-generation Telematic Units to the customer.
- Act as / Be the face to the customer for all SW related topics.
- Orchestrate virtual, cross functional, global project teams.
- Plan, monitor, control and track the software project to achieve the goals with respect to schedule, effort, product quality and process quality in a timely manner.
- Represent the program internally and externally to senior management.
- Assure that all software project team members understand the product, understand their roles in the project organization and accept their responsibilities.
- Define and establish software project management process and development lifecycle activities derived from HARMAN standard process considering project specific constraints and stakeholder needs.
- Establish communication and synchronization with global cross functional teams involved in the project on a regular base.
- Provide SW program status updates on a regular base. Represent the program internally and externally to senior management during program, quality, and operations reviews.
- Create and update software project milestone schedule, synchronized with program management, customer, and suppliers.
- Identify SW development work products, plan and monitor their regular release within SW Maturity Gate according to the defined software development lifecycle.
- Support the Lead SW Project deliverables.
What You Need:
- University degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science) or Business Administration or appropriate graduation
- Fluent Japanese (Level 2) and Business English.
- Expert knowledge in project management and coordination in a globally distributed development environment (Waterfall, Agile).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Global mindset, teamwork in a multi-location team, enterprise approach.
- Knowledge of process models (e.g. Automotive SPICE®, CMMI).
- Ability to understand complex systems, to break down and structure into reasonable parts so dependencies become visible, describable, and thus manageable.
- Proven and effective communication, analytical, judgment, initiative, and execution skills.
- Team management with 10+ people directly or indirectly.
What makes you eligible:
- Certified Project Management Professional (e.g. PMP).
- Automotive experience.
- Projects implemented with Automotive ASPICE Level 3.
- Experience in real-time embedded software and system development.
- Team management with 25+ people directly or indirectly.
- Fluent Japanese (Level 1).
What Makes You Eligible:
- Be willing to travel up to 30%, domestic and international travel.
- Successfully complete a background investigation/Aptitude Test as a condition of employment.
