About the Role

As the Program CEO, the Program Manager leads the cross-functional team to develop and launch product and services acting as the key customer interface to set program objectives, balance profit, quality performance and timing while managing launch risk and change management through launch and into stable production. As Pursuit manager - you will be responsible for growing Harman’s automotive business to meet customer specific booking targets. You will engage with the customer in an early stage to create business opportunities and drive these opportunities with healthy commercials to award.

Your Team: Team 1 is your core team responsible for development and launch of a compelling product that meets internal/external customer requirements and promotes customer satisfaction. The purpose of Team 1 is to deliver the product in accordance with development milestones into stable production and to meet operating profit over program life.  The Team1 consists of sales, design, product sourcing, manufacturing and quality roles and is led by the Program Manager. 


What You Will Do

  • Assemble a team to develop and launch a product or service
  • Define program objectives and ways of working and communicating externally and internally
  • Drive the execution of the program
  • Balance the triple constraint of cost, timing, and quality performance to program objectives
  • Manage changes and program risk while executing the product development and launch process
  • Execute the pursuit strategy for new business opportunities in alignment with the customer account strategy.
  • Identify and create new pursuits and drive early engagement activities, including “war gaming” and 10 standards
  • Own RFI/RFQ response for new business opportunities and be responsible for the quote as well as for commercial sourcing negotiations with the customer
  • Create a game-changing unique selling proposition and value statements
  • Understand customer expectations (cost, requirements, timing) and define internal targets to meet them
  • Identify key stakeholders and decision makers and develop strategies to win new business

 

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Bachelor of Science in a technical field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years product development and/or program management experience with specific experience in at least one area of technical specialization (software, hardware, mechanical or manufacturing) preferably in an automotive application.
  • Developed and launched at least 1 product through the lifecycle from business commitment through stable production.
  • Expected general skills includes, but not limited to, cross-functional team leadership, arbitrating technical tradeoffs, problem solving, negotiation, P&L understanding and communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of P&L statements, business cases, and quotes/contracts
  • Strong hunting and negotiation skills
  • Experience executing a strategy
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal) 

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Master of Science, Technical or MBA
  • PMP Certification
  • Automotive supplier, Tier1 Electronics background
  • Direct experience with applicable customer
  • Basic technical understanding of Automotive HW and SW systems
  • Understanding of Automotive OEM’s organization and processes

 

What Makes You Eligible

  • Be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel
  • Be willing to work in an [office, manufacturing facility, client-site} OR This role is eligible to work remotely full-time with occasional trips into the X office location required (this could be on 24-hour notice)
  • Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
