About the Role
The Software Engineer in Telematics team will have the opportunity to develop innovative software for automotive industry. Telematics exposes the internal car ecosystem to the Internet: the car becomes an element of the Internet of Things (IoT), offering a new level of access to car’s functionalities and a platform to build additional features in areas such as safety, security, comfort. You will work with concepts like Telematics, 5G and V2X (vehicle-to-everything). You will be part of a team responsible for developing the software components for a Telematics team, with one of the next specializations: Telematics Applications, Connectivity, Calls, Security, SW Update, System, Autosar integration.
What You Will Do
- Develop software components (C++/Linux).
- Analyze and assess customer specifications; develop components based on this information.
- Take care about communication with customer on his domain
- Plan the features and tickets according with project milestones; creates tasks for the planned features according with Agile methodology
- Take care about communication between team members and project management
- The quality of software components is according with standards specified in BMS
- Create reports for project, local management and customer
- Resolve inconsistencies in case of unclear technical requirements in the specification by direct communication with the customer.
- Make functional testing of developed source code, participate in code review sessions.
- Defect analysis and scenario validation
- Act according the standards of the automotive industry, in-car applications and software development processes.
- Evaluate change requests from customer and identify the risks
- Review the changes and propose adjustements if required
- Familiar with security concepts in Linux/Embedded.
- Create and maintain code design documents on high level and/or component level.
- This role has no subordinates.
What You Need to be successful
- At least 5+ years of experience as a software developer.
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or other relevant (IT connected) specializations.
- Solid knowledge of C++ proved by 5+ years of experience.
- Linux expertise.
- Experience in developing embedded applications.
- Knowledge in inter-process communication, threading.
- Working knowledge of software development processes.
- Working knowledge of embedded operating systems.
- Knowledge in Security concepts
- Good English skills in spoken and written English.
- Experience in working with (external) customers/OEMs
- Self-driven, autonomous and systematic way of working and able to help other achieve this
- Analytical skills and good system understanding in the embedded SW area
- Knowledge in agile software development methods (e.g. V-Model, ASPICE, etc.)
- Knowledge of agile methods and frameworks (SAFe) is an advantage.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Automotive experience.
- Security knowledge (Sandboxing, encryption)
- Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Stash)
