About the Role
As the Quality Manager, you will manage and coordinate the activities of the quality department, establish and maintain a Quality System, always in search of continuous improvement. Follow up on the implementation of corrective and preventive actions for the Customer's complaints. Drive best practices throughout Harman with international quality standards. Responsible for improving the overall quality and performance of the product we deliver to our customers.
What You Will Do
- Formulates and manages the Department’s objectives and budget, as well as the strategies and action plans to achieve those objectives.
- Establishes and maintains a Quality System, always in search of continuous improvement.
- Review the Quality metrics and assign resources according to their needs.
- Maintains communication with all areas with the purpose of keeping everyone focused on the same objectives.
- Verifies, through the Quality Engineers, the correct implementation of Quality inspections and Audits.
- Establishes approval requirements for materials and finished goods, and determines the essential tests to consider conforming products.
- Reviews Metrics with Engineers discussing various possible alternatives, providing resources and a suitable environment,
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of subordinates to facilitate the implementation and operation of the Company. Responsible for selecting, Training, motivating, developing, and acting as a facilitator to Q.A. Staff.
- Maintain, through Quality Engineering, the inventory of rejected products within the previously established standards, in search of action plans to avoid its recurrence.
- Verifies and maintains Quality records up to date.
- Maintains Quality equipment in suitable conditions and up to date.
- Maintains through Engineering work instructions and methods for Production.
- Participates in the development and implementation of new products and is responsible for the introduction process of such products. Interacts with the Engineering of other Harman’s facilities regarding modifications in the Engineering process or product as required, and the implementation of the Safe Launch Plan
- Elaborates on monthly Quality reports.
- Responsible for selecting and maintaining relationships outside the immediate business unit, including (but not limited to) Certifying Bodies (ex., CSA, UL, CQC, CCC, KIWA-EN54, TUV) and testing laboratories. Directly supports distributors and sales offices with documentation related to international certifications and importation regulations.
- Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the CCC product certification
- Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Quality System
- Responsible for the Calibration and LPA program
- Responsible for the coordination of first article approvals for raw material
What You Need to Be Successful
- BS Technical Engineering Degree.
- 5 years of prior experience in an industrial product manufacturing environment.
- 5 years of prior experience as Q.A. or Engineering Manager.
- 3 years of prior experience in budget management.
- 3 years of prior experience in the new product introduction process.
- 3 years of prior experience implementing Continuous Improvement and excellence Methods.
- 3 years of prior experience in Project Management.

- Advanced English level (reading and writing that allow fluid presentations)
- Knowledge of Manufacturing Systems, GMP’s and Project Management.

- Works standing 40 % of the time.
